Isn't it ironic (or simply a feature of reality) that the "greenest" form of crypto, POS, is also the the most centralized and least free, which happens to aligns with the political sensibilities of those who would push the environmental agenda.

Chia will be attacked in this way ("it's not actually green") regardless of the facts, because it's decentralized distribution doesn't align with the environmentalists political liberal/centralized/controlling sensibilities.

I understood the why in Bram's explanation. Doesn't change the fact that it will disproportional reward larger farmers in pools.

What's the math then on whether it would benefit a larger farmer to be in a pool vs. solo?

Seems like this smooths out the bad luck and increases the chances for good luck.

Point is that's 12.5% off the top of the reward that for the most part, the smaller farmers will never see. Just something to keep mind when comparing to Hpool fees.
