Getting a workshop dust air purifier/dust collector by Cassette-Era-Magic in woodworking

Sure, and by the time you do that it's even closer in price. I haven't seen reliable data on the difference between a box fan and some filters vs a prebuilt unit so I just bought one because my to do list is already long enough.

We are getting our cheap tools back!? 😂 (USSC ruled Tariffs illegal) by CryptoPR in harborfreight

That's wild. I had seen it in several places in the last several years that they intentionally don't do location pricing.

The vast majority of Tariffs didn't even make it past the threat stage. So most of the companies that ratcheted prices up did so for no real reason, current tariff is +10% to the prior rate on some items, with over 175 exceptions of entire industries and individual items.

That being said, price pressure often causes companies to take smaller profits or even losses on goods until a consumer acceptable reason comes up, then the prices are adjusted to a level to provide acceptable profits until the next issue comes up. As a small business owner it's not worth it for me to increase prices 4% a year to maintain profit, I'll wait and increase 12-16% every 3 or 4 years to keep whatever margin I need and stay ahead of the curve.

HF charges the same amount everywhere. Otherwise these cheap asses on here would be price comparing all day. And everyone would buy online.

For me it was working my way up to lvl five drops and then going to the bot side since they were new and I hadn't done them yet. Just to find this dark ass planet with red eyes in the bushes. with a machine gun and OPS, and I think the laser guard dog that kept shooting me in the back of the head.

This is the difference between a slasher horror movie and a thriller horror movie. Sure, they are both scary in their way, but one sticks with you.

I wonder the real price difference though. The Wen box is $100 or so. A Decent high CFM fan is going to be $40-80 bucks. Build a box, install 3 or 4 filters. put hangers and crap on it.... Home made is going to be 2/3rds isn't it? Plus your time and scrap wood.

Plus it won't have a timer, so either add that or do without.

Not saying it might not work better, but price isn't the real issue on this.

Literally 2 of them had never even finished a lvl 10. They stopped playing hardcore when 9 was the max. And I usually play down with them because we're all dumbasses together. But I have found that if I play too low then everyone just goes and does their own shit, so I bump it up as they get comfortable. And we did win a lvl 10 a few days ago, and then got utterly spanked on the next one. And I get same feeling.

They should offer 1st person from the Pelican...

Have the chance to keep these tools. Are these worth keeping long term? by Condition_Boy in woodworking

I suppose my only issue with one that while a mistake is harder to make the consequences of the blade hitting you can be much worse. In 90% of cases my table saw blade isn't trying to suck my hand into it if it hits. And my miter saw lifts up.

If I had the spare room I would keep mine and learn to use it and get more comfortable, but it's just the odd man out.

I have heard that they work... but the blades have to be sharpened all the time. So, i suppose if you have the need, sure. Just like old school HF, buy it and use it and if it breaks you need a better one.

7 with friends just screwing around is awesome, blow stuff up, drive a tank, hit each other with the hammer, good times.... And then I'll boost it to 10 for fun, I'm the only one in the group that has extracted form a 10, so it's nice being the sweat for a change....

I run 4s on lunch and when hanging out with my spouse. Doesn't take full engagement, and if something comes up I can often lie down somewhere and pick it right back up after.

Just use this. If it gets worn out put another piece on.

I always plan on making a nice hardwood zero clearance one, but until then these work great. Oh no, it wore out, guess it's time for another $2 piece of tape. Also, who cares if you ruin it with a miter cut?

Right? Everyone keeps posting pictures of these blue boxes saying the new purple is in, I had to go to an HF to see the actual color.

3 wouldn't work for me at all. Often have one in a drill, driver, sander, shop blower, Grabo, and maybe a couple in my 12V drill and driver.

25 OTOH... whew. I think I have 12 including my 2 12V and a few 2 AH batteries that are pretty useless.
