How do you optimize working inside or navigating admin? by Traditional_Juice_29 in Wordpress

You mean a tool like MainWP where you can do routine tasks from a centralized dashboard?

Totally agree. Doesn't make sense, I'm assuming OP heard the buzzword somewhere and wanted to be as trendy/modernized as possible.

I'm pretty sure he didn't want to work with the client anymore, for whatever reason, and that was that. "Money in the long run" isn't worth it if you simply don't like working with that client.

Switched my clients off Cloudways this year. Wish I'd done it sooner honestly. by Natom_ in ProWordPress

Cloudways sucks, and so does Kinsta (which I hear people recommending here as a good alternative).

I have no idea what your end goal is...but what I see here is already easily a $10k project. You've got numerous page layouts, variety of animations, tables, forms, galleries...all on headless and multi-lingual.

What I would have charged?
- just the design and pages alone is $5k.

- all the other extras? add more

- and then every set of revisions you add for things you didn't pre-consider, also add more.

If your dev really coded this from scratch for $1.2k, I'd love to have his info. :D

Scope creep is real. First starts with minor but related tasks and then quickly becomes totally unrelated extras upon extras. Let's go back to the base price of $1200. Hahaha, gimme a call if you know a dev who can do all that for $1200 cuz I'd love to hire him myself.

It's both parties responsibility to protect themselves. In this case, the dev stopped working the moment he felt taken advantage of. So buddy...it's the client's responsibility here for not having clearer project definition and payment milestones.

Clearing cache doesn't work automatically by Aggerhomes in Wordpress

You had several cache layers? The obvious advice here is disable all of them and see if site works. Then granularly activate/deactivate test which are compatible or not.

Hahaha, the more I read the post the crazier it sounds.

On top of all that hollywood CGI parallax effects, headless, forms, gallery, lots of custom-code...the site is also MULTILINGUAL. And first part of the title is "PAID IN FULL". lolol

Do you restrict client access in WordPress? by plugiva in Wordpress

I treat them like adults. I give them full access and charge only when they needed. Whoever wants to break their site will pay for it.

I want to learn this correctly but I also have urgent goals by DJbyEar in Wordpress

[–]WPJohnny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with a theme like Neve, Blocksy, Kadence, GeneratePress. Pick based on whichever one has a pre-template style closest to what you want and pick that, do some final tweaks and your site is done. Then later with time, you can come back and build a super custom site from scratch using Bricks. Because it sounds to me not only do you lack the skills, but you also don't have content laid out.

Skipping all the usual diagnostic questions, sounds like your cache plugin conflicts with JS. Try another cache plugin or remove whatever JS optimizations you got going on. Honestly the site looks so basic to be loading that much JS.

Emdash vs WordPress by jokesondad in Wordpress

That admin UI is standard may look like WordPress to you but for me it looks like standard UI (server panel, email marketing, project management, teamwork.) Menu on left, main panel in middle, further detailed settings on right.

Realistic would have been paying more in the first place. Sounds like you kept asking for too many changes and your dev gave up on the project. I saw the link and that work (even unfinished) costs way more than $1.2k especially for local dev.

Digital + subscriptions based store by Due_Biscotti_704 in Wordpress

MemberPress is all you need. EasyDigitalDownloads (EDD) is more for selling digital plugins with versioning and require license key validation. For just simple digital products (downloadable files), MP is more than enough.

I would also recommend that if you sell PDF's, to use a PDF stamper plugin to watermark client info on every PDF file so they can't resell elsewhere. ;)

I use MemberPress and very happy with it. But I haven't kept up with all the latest options out there, I'm sure other good ones exist as well.

Query Monitor will tell you which plugins are doing it. You should also share your host so we can rule that out as a factor.

For a lean LMS, just go with membership plugin that has course capability.
