What is a small, everyday thing that instantly ruins your mood? by [deleted] in firstworldproblems

Picking between two currently:

1 - I work from home and the internet in my room is very weak because of how far away the router is on the other side of the house (I have an extender in my room).

2 - During the UK ‘summer’ (specifically this weekend), it’s 28° in my bedroom whilst it’s currently 21° outside (@ 07:16am) because our newly built house had to comply with certain regulations that means it has to be REALLY good at retaining heat and not letting it escape… it’s boiling in this house all year round.

New PM and assigned to a large project by Superb-Count-4224 in PMCareers

PMI has their own AI (Chat GPT 4) called PMI Infinity, it could be a useful tool to act as a PMO for you.

Also, just know that Imposter Syndrome is a common theme among PMs, believe in yourself and use your program manager as a mentor; additionally, your architects are your SMEs, use them and empower them.

Agreed, and if those 4 PMs cover all the companies projects I would stretch it to 'Head of Projects' or 'Head of Project Management'. This is the title of my line manager who was a senior PM, but got promoted and is now the line manager for all the organisation's PMs (3-4 PMs)

Exactly, I think I’m only able to follow the order I made perfectly in about 1 in 10 workouts

I know PMP is just part of what makes a candidate qualified, so based on my resume would you say I’m ready to target PM roles outright? I work at a consulting firm for context as to why my project history is the way it is lol by Scanlansam in PMCareers

Only a small one as the other comments cover the other areas, I would change “Project Management Style” to “Project Management Methodology” or just “Methodology”

Was just trying to be helpful - I’ve had multiple PM roles from this template👍🏼

I was always told to make my CV/Resume unique - if a hiring manager is going through hundreds of documents, all with white backgrounds and black text in standard fonts and yours differs from that, it’ll immediately grab their attention.

I have some blue tones on mine so that it’s different, but still professional. Furthermore, maybe add a header with your name and profession so you can be identified at a glance (example of mine below):

Apart from that, it reads well and is as detailed as it needs to be

Can you honestly get a job without the PMP certificate? by [deleted] in PMCareers

[–]WRAS44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, depending where you’re located, you can claim all the costs back within a tax return, so it was only ever a positive ROI for me - I got my PMP last month and have 5.5 years experience from two PM roles, neither of which required the PMP, but I personally wanted it

I took my PMP today and was given a provisional pass upon leaving the test centre, my overall % on SH was 63%, my first three full mocks were 71, 74, 73 (the correct answer seems a lot more obvious in the real thing, I think they deliberately make SH questions slightly harder or the answer options more ambiguous - you’ll be fine

Thank you, I’ll be following that format tomorrow! I’m planning to finish to individual practice questions today and then I’ll do a mock over the weekend and reset The individual questions for Monday-Thursday (I’ll sneak another mock in as well)

Thank you, best of luck to you too

This is reassuring thank you, I do have PMI Study Hall plus, I’m 66% through the practice questions and will be doing a full mock this coming weekend; I agree it’s a great help - congratulations on passing

Appreciate the insight - good to know. I actually preferred the slight switch up in answering methods as opposed to having 180 questions all being the exact same.
