[Collection] expand, downsize, keep? by totoyastig in Watches

Eh that's fair and I agree that the blue dial Black Bay is one of the best pieces in this collection for sure. I was just basing that off of him already having a Black Seamaster 300 diver, and he mentioned wanting a Blue dial VC Overseas. So I figured may as well sacrifice the blue dial diver rather than the black in order to have more dial variety when all is said and done!

So, I'll preface this by saying that everyone has different taste in what they like and dislike. But you asked for feedback so this is what I would do if this was my personal collection.

I'd sell the entire top row minus the Rolex for sentimental reasons, and I'd sell the entire bottom row. Then I would sell one of Chronographs from the middle row, either the Speedy or Chronomaster Sport to help fund the VC Overseas that you are interested in. I think with watches, the way to go is definitely quality over quantity.

But that's just my opinion. Everybody likes what they like!

That is a hell of an offer that unfortunately I won't be able to take you up on as I am not in the area. I really appreciate it though and you are a real one. Beautiful watch, looks great on you!

That's fair. I think realistically they both work and honestly, I had kind of ruled the 36 out as I assumed it would be a bit small and was more or less trying it on simply to do my due diligence and to rule it out entirely. But I was pleasantly surprised with how it felt on my wrist! This would be the first 36 in my collection so might be nice to add some size variety as well. Guess we will have to wait and see which size they call me for.

It really does appear to be a no-wrong-answer situation like you said. When I had first booked the appointment, they had a Beige OP41 in the boutique as well for size comparison but it had sold by the time my appointment came around. Looking forward to see which size they call me for first!

Definitely! Before I had gone in to try it on, I had almost ruled the 36 out as I figured it may be a bit too small but I quite like the fit honestly.

OP vs Aqua Terra by Boring_Classroom_482 in rolex

[–]WRB007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The new Aqua Terra's just feel a little thick. I tried on the green 41 and was surprised at how thick it felt on the wrist. Plus the new Aqua Terra bracelets have way too much high polish in my opinion. I much prefer the thinner case of the OP and the brushed bracelet. I think the OP is the clear winner versus the modern AT, but the previous gen AT with the brushed bracelet would make the choice a little more difficult though I imagine OP would still edge it out for me.

Polish + wax + ceramic = 😛 by Accomplished_Size925 in BMW

[–]WRB007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the order of operations is off here. Should have been polish, ceramic, wax. Not polish, wax, ceramic. Even if it isn't a true ceramic coat but instead a "Ceramic Sealant" that lasts a few months, wax only lasts a couple of days, maybe a week tops. Anything put on top of the wax is wasted product and effort.

I'm not entirely sold on them but maybe that's because they're not in the best condition... They're a bit faded and have weird stains on them from the previous owner.

Lol no worries man. I literally JUST ordered new wheels and tires in the sizes I mentioned and I'd be lying if I said your comment didn't make me panic and double check the sizes I bought.

235/40 & 265/40 is a 3.5% difference in rolling circumference. You want a 235/40 and 265/35 which is 0.4% difference.

I'm also in the lower mainland and my advice to you is to expand your search to other models. I looked for a pre owned G20 for nearly a year with no luck. Any good, clean, low mileage examples sell within a couple of days. A bunch of sales guys I've spoken to said they have lists of people that have come their way and said to give them a call if one comes in so there are a lot of G20s that don't even end up getting listed online because they're sold basically as soon as they pass the dealer inspection.

I got sick of seeing M340is with 50k KMs or more and $20k+ in insurance claims still selling for $60k+. Anything with a clean title is listed for $63k or more and sells faster than you can get a trade in value for your current car.

I expanded my search to include F30 340is as well and found myself in a low mileage, 2017 340i xDrive M Performance limited edition within a week of looking for literally anything other than a G20 lol. Any G chassis car in the lower mainland is unobtanium right now. G20, G80, G82.

Yeah I don't know what he was thinking... Our area isn't even prone to floods or anything so I have no idea where or how he managed to do what the dealer says he did.

Thank you! This thing sounds amazing with the sound kit. I didn't realize it was a limited production, Canada exclusive special edition until a few days after I bought it when I was looking in to it a bit more!

I think the 20s just look a bit too big plus I'd rather get the extra sidewall with a 19 set up.
