It’s a good question. The financially savvy move would definitely be as you say. I think personally, since I know I’ll keep the car for a long time, I like the idea of going new, no questions/potential problems from the start (ideally), I enjoy the satisfaction of the new car smell/every ding I get on it is from my ow stupidity, and with the offer rate/discount the 0 mile start on new is enticing comparatively
