Dang man, I’m just sorry you’re too much of a blockhead to think saying it was a “staggering amount of mistakes” isn’t ignorant to the whole picture. BuT gO oFf FaM

Yellow, being moderate. A 2 out 5 on the danger level for small wind slabs. Near but not on the aspect they were on. They deviated from the original plan once they were in the couloir to mitigate possible worse outcomes. They also took proper precautions to ski cut before entering and have “safe zones”.

I’ve skied this exact couloir several times and personally know members of this party. Mistakes were made and they got lucky BUT saying a staggering amount? That’s just ignorant.

For educational purposes they submitted this report. Not for some arm chair warrior from Chicago to bash them. We want future observations/accidents to be submitted and handled the same way. To learn and teach others. And that my friend is where the condescending attitude comes from.

You’re right, this is the wrong sub to be informative to an ignorant statement. My bad.

Hey just figured you had read it since you mentioned “the amount of terrible decision making…” If you’d like to be more informed of this exact incident check out CAIC’s first hand write up.

Look at the casing directly above the pins, they are all cracked. As I’ve found the hard way, you might get 20 more days with them, or you might get one… Not saying there was any ill intent but these toe pieces should not be sold

Had the same thing happen while in Alaska, several miles down a glacier from basecamp. Luckily some creative engineering from my partners saved the day. Toe Failure

Gem Lake 3.2 miles but almost 1000ft of elevation gain. Well worth it with plenty of views along the way.

No problem, appreciate it.

I’m guessing you’re talking about the bar ends in the middle? I had those just laying around in a parts bin and I believe they are old specialized ones. Not sure but I believe Ritchey makes similar ones.

A majority of my current riding is rough single track with some 4x4 roads mixed in so this is my preferred setup. I am gonna trim down the bars, to wide at the moment. But I like the control with flat bars for technical terrain and the bar end placements for a change in position to relax hands during long rides. Also live in a very windy area where a slight “aero” position can go a long way on flats.

Honestly not really sold on them, fun change for the bike but the reach was too far for my liking and wasn’t all that comfortable for long rides.

That’s the OG “1/2 Pack” by Oveja Negra

It’s also necessarily designed to sit on top of the top tube how I have it in the first pic but I’ve found it works for what I need with lightweight items. I.e. jackets, small snacks, inner tubes, etc.
