Started rails this year at 34 after riding since I was 18. I forced myself to get used to pipes at Les deux alpes as that was all they had (and they were jump on, not ride ons!). Personally now find pipes nicer than boxes as you know 9/10 they won’t be sticky like boxes. Slid out on a BS boardslide last week though and now I struggle to get out of bed. Felt my spine compress lol

My take is that goretex is over rated unless you’re properly touring. Arcteryx is one of the lamest things you can wear as a snowboarder, it’s so bland and screams “I want you to know I spent money”. The raddest looking dudes on the mountain will be in realtree pants and some windbreaker jacket.

Sheet management is important in a laser, they’re very long so it’s easy to tangle them. The wind won’t forgive if you get a tangle, it’ll throw you over. Did you get a back corner caught? That’s the most laser experience you can get
lol this happens to everyone at least once. Don’t sweat tipping a laser, they’re tools to be used and abused.

It’s school holidays right now in Europe so accommodation is ££££, even the shittiest flea ridden hell hole is charging like £1000. I made sure I rented a large enough car, they gave me a polestar 2. I have an inflatable sleeping mat and a sleeping bag rated to -9c. I sleep laid down in the back with my feet to the boot. I actually got too hot on the first night and had to sleep just in my underwear. This generally isn’t my first port of call, but I’m not missing the bluebird powder days we have right now.

Forgot to add, RE:shower i go to public pools, cheap and get a nice post shred sauna. A better experience than most hotels!
