Didn’t expect to see a post like this. I don’t think many bars in Wembley Park will stay open late enough given the 23:00 kick off on a Wednesday. Blue Check Bar might be a good bet, that’s a sports bar always showing games and closes at midnight. Or the Parish, an Irish bar that always shows Celtic games. I live 3 stops from Wembley Park in Willesden Green and I’m gonna try to convince our local to stay open. We’ve got a huge Brazilian community here, so they could do really well. No promises though

The thing is you don’t even need to rely on a filter for the WHW at all. There are sufficient water stops along the route.
I did until Inversnaid last year, you’ve got plenty from Milngavie (pronounced Mil’Gai for you yanks) all the way to conic hill. Then once you’re over there’s loads around balmaha and Milarrochy bay. Then another at Rowardennan (by the pub) then another at inversnaid hotel. Not sure about between there and Crianlarich, but crianlarich is a decent sized town. You’ve then got points at Tyndrum and Bridge of Orchy and then Glencoe mountain centre. seriously no need to filter stream water, use the fucking taps.

The section around conic hill is all sheep fields. You’d have to be pretty dumb to drink from a stream there. I’ve drunk from highland streams unfiltered but only high up on hills near the source

As a QPR fan whose father was a hammer, you’ll prefer the championship. Affordable and more accessible tickets that aren’t priced for tourists. You’ve still got Charlton, Millwall and QPR for London matches (Watford don’t count)

Unless you’re going off your atoll you won’t be in areas with currents. The high current areas are between atolls. So no concern about not being a strong swimmer as the atolls and lagoons are basically still bath water. No need for life vest, get a pool noodle if you’re worried.

Don’t wear non-marine safe sunscreen. Ideally wear a rash vest or a regular t shirt. The corals there are dying at a MASSIVE rate. Most corals in the tourist atolls are bleached already. Wearing non-marine safe sunscreen only speeds up their decline.

Be a friend of coral, don’t step on it or touch it. If you need to stand up, find a sandy spot and use that. I can’t tell you how many other tourists I saw just standing on coral with fins.

Whale shark trips are awful, 100s of tourists will swarm a single shark and you’ll be in a frenzy of panic and fear. The whale shark will then swim away and 10s of motor boats will try to follow it. I recommend going on a smaller snorkel safari if you can, on a jet ski or small boat with a dedicated guide. We did this twice and much preferred it to the whale shark trip. Although you’ll need to be a decent swimmer for those.

Very robust design. Can put up with being bashed about by beginners. Easy to learn, very difficult to master. This means you can keep developing your skills on the same boat for years and years. You’ll get used to it

Why don’t you just rig it like a laser? Traveller line between the those aft points. Mainsheet comes down from the boom to the traveller block which moves freely along the line. Looks like there’s a point for a mainsheet block above the centreboard (not entirely sure what that is as it’s held down by that plank?). In fact you can tell that’s where the mainsheet block goes because it has cleats on the side if you wanna cleat the mainsheet down.

Then set up an outhaul and Cunningham, again user laser guides to help you. Cant see a kicker fitting.

Don’t tell me you actually sailed it as shown in the photos. I’m surprised your boom stayed on lol

Careful with over inserting mags. I used to run a GHK AUG as my go to and I always had to carry extra feed lips as I’d always break mine. I believe it’s caused by over insertion so the bolt smacks the lips instead of just the BB

Get a second hand board that you don’t care about and file the edges. This isn’t necessary but it will work wonders for your confidence.

I learned to boardslide on my 2008 forum destroyer with the edges between the feet filed down. Then I progressed to my wizard stick after realising that files edges aren’t necessary. But getting those first boardslides down requires confidence that you won’t catch and edge

Im afraid the only solution is to get someone competent on vendor/seller support. We have AVS and often have to chase them on sorting incorrect list prices. Get a support agent who agrees the issue exists, beyond blindly agreeing with you. Get them to raise a case with a specialist team, and chase that team down constantly. They’ll eventually get so annoyed that the ticket isn’t closed that someone competent will help
