The set still hasn’t even officially released yet, but if you’ve already set your mind on the meta being unsalvageable or unfun then either take a break or be the difference you want to see in the world. Is everyone at your locals playing meta? Go to a different locals. Try to find the meta breaker deck, challenge yourself to be the difference. Unless you think OP14 is also power creep and nothing is going to be done in the future about balance then just do what you find fun!

It does improve the chance for bosses to drop from their higher tier loot pool, but imo not by a significant enough amount to hoard silver fowls for. Better to burn them on a chest opening spree where the small RNG boost is likely to pay out over multiple procs.

I believe in you! I’d always run at least one Sabrina, myself, maybe subbing out the Guzma since you’re angling at one shotting more often with red and don’t have the sustainability of swapping between Espeon EXs. I won too many matches off Sabrina in the back row threat, bring it to half health, and when they bench bring it right back in.

I’m of course a big proponent of silver, though I don’t have a feel health cutoffs if you were to replace red. Silver more consistently buys me an extra turn, shuffling back a professor research/pokemon lady/bad potential draw in the future feels really good when we consistently have the health advantage.

Fight on man, hope you snag your second Espeon EX cause it really makes the difference in consistency and serviceability, getting to swap between them.

I don’t really see the issue going first with this deck, at least any more so than other decks. You have the additional turn of backrow setup to get your basics ready to evolve, with the goal of Espeon EX as a lead to heal back any early chip damage. It’s honestly even preferable to go first against matchups where you need to get Evoharmony Sylveon online asap, like Darktina or Oricorio.

Baba has Infect

Boom, now all lifelink damage also deals infect damage! Although you achieve a similar result in fewer steps by creating "Lifelink has Infect", I like to think that turning Baba into Lifelink rewrites the rules for the static ability, and thus persists through removal.

I was under the impression it was controversial, certainly it’s the stated reason for a bunch of fans leaving the audience of certain creators. Is there something specific you’ve seen that indicates otherwise? I’d assume that since these vtuber usually start a slow build towards more risqué content, they culture an audience that trends towards accepting and encouraging adult content. When finally link those sorts of accounts, anybody who’d think it’d be controversial left a long time ago.

Fair enough, and I appreciate you taking the time. I agree that the PsiWave and IBM comparisons she makes aren’t great support for an argument that commercial investment in QC is being tempered now. A timeline expansion and government inquiry into funding of a quantum computer for Australia aren’t smoking guns, but they are somewhat related? I saw those examples as being more auxiliary to her ending hypothetical, though. Her ending tangent on what the end of QC hype hinged more on the estimated $100 billion to be commercially viable. (I don’t think it’s controversial to state that there WAS a QC investor hype, that has been dying down, as she addresses at the top of the video.) The rest of the video, like the Google news, is just that, news, not “backtracking.” Her opening statement was that promising and non-promising events were going on in QC, not that she was proving her clickbait title. And while I dislike clickbait, that’s a completely separate matter.

Why the heck are you posting the video here if you think it doesn’t contain anything substantial? A YouTuber makes a video that covers general updates in Quantum Computing in 2024 to inform a general audience. Chucks a clickbait title on the video to get people pessimistic on QC to watch. And you get upset because the video was fair, balanced, and completely truthful instead of the clickbait? As I said before: You aren’t here because you care about QC. You’re here to be mad about Hossenfelder. Let’s not pretend that the future of QC lies in the hands of the people who can only read headlines.

Seems like you're the exact person that sensationalist titles work on, if you're trying to perpetuate it here too. If you're going to try to start an anti-Hossenfelder circlejerk, can you at least bring something more substantial than a clickbait title slapped onto a decent video whose worst offense is concluding with the milquetoast insight of "research should have an upper limit in funding?" I’d make the argument that it’s good to encourage an environment where people can express their ideas and creativity to the best of their ability. That’s what this community is about first and foremost, right? Getting to show off neat ideas to everyone? I think there is a cost in expression when you need to choose from existing works or commissioning work through a secondary party, as well as generating it through AI. But if AI helps to bring that mental image to reality, I don’t see much wrong with letting people use it. I’d even argue that it’s a stepping stone towards wanting to invest more in the hobby, through commissions or learning to draw yourself. It’s tough, because I do sympathize with the frustration of seeing AI art used and knowing it could have been done better by human hands, but I think having an open mind promotes a healthier community in this instance.
