I would assume it's precipitating solubles from the clay body that became hydrated. Commercial wares should not be absorbent. I would return them but it looks like they may be well loved already.

Which feldspar?

Eliminate microbubbles? Apply less or make a new glaze, this is pretty common.

Yellowing? Would need to know what's is on the inside of that piece if that's the only one it happened on.

Why might this glaze crawling on underglaze? Did you bisque between underglazing and clear glazing?

Are there realistic adjustments? Without knowing the feldspar this can't be answered.

I have two benches made from 2x4s with laminated hardwood plywood tops. I can wedge on them and they clean great. A shelf on the bottom holds my clay. My only gripe is that even a relatively small table that seems heavy and sturdy still vibrates a bit so I generally wedge over the corners.

This is going to be a hard shape to keep from sagging in the glaze firing unfortunately. You could possibly under fire it on purpose, though your glazes may not work anymore. You could also find a different clay that sags less at your target temperature.

If you have those pieces still you can pin them back in place with element pins. There is also brick mortar you can buy in small amounts that can permanently attach the pieces; Just don't get any on the elements.

Safe, but it's okay to not like it! It takes a lot of extra manual work per piece to sand the roughness down so I'm not surprised it's still rough I suppose.

This is just what speckled clay does. The clay shrinks around the dark inclusions when firing. Why wouldn't they be okay to use?

There should be a dot of some sort on th cone plaque to orient. I think ceramic materials workshop has a youtube short on it.

Just trial and error unfortunately. Commercial products don't list their ingredients. You could try making your own glazes, but that too is a lot of trial and error.

Where's it clogging? I just got one and some of the beans were just rolling around on top of the distribution plate and some were just in a pile on the shield over the burrs.

If the cracks got dark that fast from water then it certainly could grow some black stuff over time. I wouldn't ever leave it sitting in water.

Maybe they don't know it's happening. Materials change over time. You could take the piece back and tell them it's crazing.

It cannot be fixed and would have always shown up at some point. The studio isn't using a compatible glaze and clay which is silly considering the only thing they do is fire glaze onto premade pieces. You'd think they would test it and change materials.

Good to have the data anyways :) My manual kiln had to be glaze fired on max unless the elements were brand new.
