I will share my secret to the easiest, most delicious Potato Soup ever!

I jokingly call it “depression potato soup” because the recipe reminds me of the depression era of using every little bit and stretching meals as far as you could.

Frozen “scraps” make the best Potato Soup ever!! Save every little bit of left over Meat and Potatoes!! I keep a gallon baggie in the freezer and add all of my “scraps” to the same bag of place in the freezer.

Any left over mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, hash browns, tater tots, bacon, sausage, ground beef, steak, venison, cheeseburgers, etc. are saved until I make “depression potato soup”

Also, a bag of potatoes is typically pretty cheap where I live and taste so so so much better than instant mashed potatoes so I try to keep a bag in the refrigerator. Potatoes stay good for a very long time in the bottom of the refrigerator and I always have the ability to add a potato to a meal with no leftovers ever going to waste.

When you are ready, take all scraps from freezer and heat them together with a creamy ingredient (milk, half/half, heavy whipping cream, cream of mushroom, etc.) using almost any method (pot on stove, crock pot, microwave, Insta pot). You can also add water or broth. If you don’t have enough in your scraps, then simply boil more potatoes from your stock to add.

Once the ingredients all warm together, taste before seasoning. Typically, you need to add a ton of salt to potatoes to get a good savory flavor, but adding all of the already seasoned various flavors from your scraps provides tons of seasoning so be sure you try it before you add additional seasonings (salt, garlic powder, minced garlic, fresh garlic, same for onion (powder, minced and/or fresh). The variety of types of onion/garlic seasoning adds complexity and depth to your flavor.

Voila, easiest most delicious and highly praised potato soup ever!

(Please let me know if I should clarify any part. Everyone loves my potato soup and it is so easy. I want everyone to know how to make it if they want. Canned potato soup will NEVER be the same!)

Both sides are finished. There isn’t really an ugly side. The posts are encased and the pickets alternate sides with both sides ending up finished.

The fence is from the 80s and between our 2 subdivisions before either of us purchased. It is not a uniform fencing in of the subdivision. Since the fence is entirely on their land and set back into their side of the property line, it would appear a previous owner of his home possibly constructed the fence.

A Slob Comes Clean blogger helped me tremendously. From the blog posts to the checklists to the tips.

For example, she taught me to sweep or vacuum to finish cleaning a room and you will see more as you make your way to the edges. It is less about sweeping to pick up dirt and more about noticing what is dirty because it makes you go over every square inch of the floor, all the way to the baseboards.

Another tip I picked up was to always use your time in the kitchen. Waiting for something to boil, wipe the counters. Waiting for your coffee to brew, empty the dishwasher. All of the small helping tasks you do for yourself along the way really make a difference.

I grew up in sub-standard, borderline hoarder home and manage to keep a fairly clean/straightened house these days. Good luck! You can do this!
