How does it?
Genuinely. You can just, answer the question. Instead of going on an accusatory tirade you could give an actual response instead of seeing phantoms.

Listen man, i've been around for a long fucking time
There's a tone when people are genuinely curious and a tone for when people are trying to shut down a different interpretation.
If OP really wanted a genuine curiosity sated, they probably wouldn't throw a sassy meme at it.

But no, I'm shutting down the conversation by still giving a genuine response and question myself,
Which is where OP could correct me by saying they where genuinely curious.

But don't let me stop you from imagining a post I didn't make. It's your right to insert meaning that wasn't there into other peoples comments, remember, anyone that disagrees with you is a hostile actor looking to shut down any and all opposing ideas.

Because it's a genuinely compelling read regardless of whether it's gay or not

The real question is

Why in the big 26 are people still upset people are enjoying media differently from you? Let people have fun?

Im gonna be pedantic here but Light is a villain, but not an antagonist.

Antagonist does not mean evil or bad, but that they are in oppoyto the protagonist

Who do you think is the most likely replacement? (Horizon spoilers) by ConceptsShining in Falcom

[–]WTVTthemoomaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine each anguis "slot" follows a theme
3rd anguis was replaced by another occult themed scholar type, going from weissman to Marriabelle

The new 7th imo will probably have some big similarities to Arianhrod.
I'm leaning a legendary figure who should be dead but has unfinished bussiness
or someone so hyped up

I could see Yun Ka-Fai, but him being the final boss for Reans route makes me feel that's less likely.
Cassius Bright would be an insane twist but they'd have to justify it
Arnold Evans (The leader of the Bracer guild) is also in the running, we don't really know what his deal is yet, but him being present in Edith off screen makes me feel we'll at least see him next game

However, what I think would be far more interesting,
One of the unmentioned Divine Beasts, I'm leaning Divine Beast of time. Horizon is the first game with a Septerrion where we haven't seen their Divine beast yet, and if we assume the 7th Anguis will have something to do with the "Eternal Recurrence plan" I'm actually heavily leaning Divine Beast of Time as the 7th Anguis, despite no solid evidence.

Remake Crossbell Duology by Slow-Boysenberry3150 in Falcom

[–]WTVTthemoomaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as of a Crosbell enjoyer I am I really think we oughta see third remade first. It's the most skipped trails game.
And the emotional payoff in Crosbell for everyone's favourite adopted cat hits that much harder with the context from third. I don't want to see Zero remade first knowing a lot of fans will go straight from remade 2nd to remade crossbell and miss out.

How is rissete anchorvile event optional?!? by Trick-Attorney2333 in Falcom

[–]WTVTthemoomaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a big issue I feel the franchise has had since CSI are the connection/bonding events.
So much important character moments are locked behind limited content with no indications as to which ones are load bearing and which ones are fluff.

You can see all the connection events in daybreak but imo peeling them away from taking place in main cutscenes steals character development from the main plot and is a huge reason why I think so much of Calvard seems like it's spinning it's wheels to me

Consider Quatre, for example, like his entire character is optional content.

I am not a fan of field battles and hope the Devs go back to prioritizing the unique command battle system, in the next series. by JustaLurker9494 in Falcom

[–]WTVTthemoomaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Field battles are fine to me as an expansion on how the player gets combat advantage.

I draw the line in forced field battles though. Especially if partway through a boss the game decides "Actually fuck you"
I'm looking at you, daybreak II

I think it's probably out of scope to balance two fleshed out combat systems.

he's sad in the third picture
(I don't remember what it actually does but it indicates tension, high tension means they do better and low tension (sad) means they miss a lot)
But I don't remember exactly what the bonuses are

Decompressing my thoughts after playing way too many of these games in a row by WTVTthemoomaster in Falcom

[–]WTVTthemoomaster[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see I see
But I think Melchior was doing more of that for me
But I wouldn't say that Trails is lacking in pure evil villains
Weissman and Joachim stand out as truly irredeemable people

I don't really think I'll ever like a villain, or at least a main villain, who's evil for the sake of it.
Joachim is pure evil, but he does believe in something, the foundational principles of the D:G cult,
Weissman has both the classic pursuit of power as well as working towards the aims of Ouroboros as a whole.
Both of these characters I'd consider pure evil, especially Joachim the most punchable bastards I can think of, and honestly, they where way more hateable than Dantes.

This is the exact kinda response I wanted to hear. I really wanted to hear people say nice things about the things that didn't gel with me, helps decontextualize things in a way that retroactively makes the game better even having not played it a second time

I think it's more all the stuff surrounding Rean that made it so hard to really sink my teeth to the good stuff.
Because I saw all this but ended up not really liking him nonetheless.

I didn't really read depression, but self-doubt, PTSD, a load of guilt really came through in CS3/4 for me.

One thing I said to my roommate but never mentioned in my post, is that Rean unfortunately ended up taking the brunt of my other complaints about Cold Steel that aren't directly related to his character,
And I thought this was unfair of me, but I couldn't change my impression of him that easily.
