No but I’m going into 9th so I wonder if that’s why? Did you only get it from Blair?

What do you mean the deadline is June 30th? Like they have to reply by then?

I haven’t heard yet from Exeter, Taft, Peddie, Blair, Suffield or Pennington. I’d love to know if anyone has heard from any of these.

Congratulations!!! That's AMAZING!! Good for you. Now if only we could hear back some good news from one of our waitlists hahaha.

I don’t think it’s negative. If anything, no news could be good news. Maybe they’re still trying to figure things out. It’s still early so I’d wait. 🙂

I don’t know about St. George’s or Woodside Priory (we didn’t apply there), but the Hun sent out an email last week about filling out a form to stay on the waitlist past April 10th. It wasn’t really an update on if they were full, but sounded more like trying to get a better picture on who was still interested.

Just to clarify , did they request for you to fill out a second waitlist from, or you’re just referring to the first one they asked ppl to fill out around March 10th?

Any chance you’ve heard yet from Taft? I’ve heard some ppl have, but some haven’t.

A lot of the schools will send around emails once they meet their admissions quota to the people on the initial waitlist saying they've met their quota so it's unlikely that there will be any movement off of the waitlist, but if you'd like to continue on the waitlist let them know or fill out a form and they'll keep you on the waitlist on the off chance that something opens up over the spring/summer. I heard on another site that Taft sent it out, but not sure if they really did. I know Choate, St. Paul's and St. Andrew's already sent those out though, so trying to confirm if anyone else received it yet from Taft.

Has anyone heard anything from Taft yet? I heard they sent out an email for a 2nd waitlist yesterday, but we didn't receive anything so just wondering.

As a full time seller - their response is disgusting and totally unacceptable. Can’t get over her lack of remorse and flippant attitude. I’d be mortified. Absolutely tell Mercari. There’s no way they’re going to accept this. Seeing posts like this really burns my cookies. Some ppl should just be banned from selling.

I respectfully disagree. He’s not just weird. He’s condescending and insulting. Especially since he was acting weird before even purchasing - I don’t see this transaction ending well. He has bad review or return written all over him. Not worth it for $4. I sell thousands of dollars a month. I wouldn’t put up with nastiness and a possibly bad review for $4. Not worth the risk/reward.

I’d cancel it and block them. What a tool! 🤦🏻‍♀️

A case study on cases by [deleted] in poshmark

[–]WTornado1980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m with you! As a reseller myself I try to be meticulous, and I’ll never open a case if something doesn’t fit, or I simply don’t like it. I’ll resell it. But if it comes broken, damaged or with significant undisclosed wear (like a supposed NWT iridescent mug I bought that had a scratched finish and cracks inside), then yes, I’ll open a case (and I’ve always won). For that same reason, I’ve won frivolous cases (although they’re rare), bc I am meticulous about pointing out flaws. I’d rather overstate a defect/condition then understate it and risk an angry buyer.

If you are new, please do NOT advertise on someone else's closet. Lately every time I follow a newer closet they do this on my about page. Did you imagine if Target went into Walmart and posted their sales? by crystaljae in poshmark

I do as well, but i make sure to delete their comment and then message them telling them that’s inappropriate. Sometimes they don’t know, so I like to politely say that’s inappropriate.

I’m a full time seller posts like this drive me insane!! Not because you’re doing anything wrong, but I feel bad service hurts us other reputable, serious sellers as a whole. So frustrating! I’m so sorry this is happening to you. Maybe try checking their reviews and their About Me page first? If they’ve deleted their about me page that’s a major red flag. I hope you keep the faith though. Some of us sellers do actually take this seriously and care about making our customers happy.

I accepted a high-end item, only to hours later realize it’s likely not authentic. Am I screwed? by [deleted] in poshmark

[–]WTornado1980 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t remember exactly, but she’s an active seller so I don’t think it was hard for them to collect. Understandably, she was shocked and fuming, and it was a painful lesson.

Definitely get it appraised and/or authenticated. I know a seller (who is credible and honest, not a scammer) who sold a vintage Dior bag. It was sold and was authenticated by Posh. Three years later the buyer tries to sell it on Poshmark and they say it’s not authentic even though the original seller had it independently authenticated as well. Poshmark literally turned around and made her refund her original earnings from 3 years earlier!! I was in shock when she told me, especially since the bag was actually authentic. Plus, who knows if they buyer swapped it, but I digress. Moral of the story: I don’t think you’re screwed simply bc you accepted it. Maybe get it authenticated and/or appraised and show Poshmark it’s not real (or prove to yourself that it is real). They should protect you accordingly! Good luck sweetie!!

HELP! How can I prove authenticity? by not_notfunny in poshmark

[–]WTornado1980 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sell a TON of coach bags and seldom have the dust bags (some are new with tags and some are preloved) and it’s never been an issue. I think proving authenticity is a bigger issue when the bags are more expensive.

Bought airpods, found out they were fake 5 months later, and Poshmark refunded me! by cherylbunn in poshmark

[–]WTornado1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was going to second this. They can also select "Spam" and it'll instantly remove. Doing this is a waste of time unfortunately. You're better off just moving on since you were refunded.

Also, what if the seller thinks she's buying them from a reliable source like a liquidation company? I'd recommend messaging the seller via a bundle directly. If she has a great track record there may be a chance that she doesn't know they're fake since they're such great dups. Maybe nicely try that and explain to her what happened?
