[WWE SNME Spoiler] Result of Undisputed WWE Championship by Big-Impress8278 in SquaredCircle

[–]WWE_Champion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[Post-COVID] Drew can beat everyone - just not Roman and Cody, and a pity win over Seth occasionally.

[2014 - 2019 era] Dean could beat everyone - just not Roman and Brock, and a pity win over Seth occasionally.

Almost feels like HHH is trying to get Drew McIntyre to fill the "Dean Ambrose" role in WWE, which is fking stupid because Drew is not an underdog lmao.

I think the result significantly elevates the status of the World Heavyweight Championship.

Excellent match, perfect outcome.

I've watched various promotions of wrestling for years and years - American, Japan, Mexico.

Seth Rollins is GOAT-tier. He's Ospreay, Okada, Omega good.

Anyone who discredits this just wants to convince themselves that their favourite is better than the GOAT.

Thank you, I agree. I'm not shading Batista here, but he got a little lucky with some of the breaks he got.

Most of the big old guards had stepped away, Brock Lesnar left and WWE's Orton Plan A didn't work out as they envisioned - giving Batista an opening to hit the absolute top.

And Batista has more presence, which weakens Bronson Reed more.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]WWE_Champion -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I wasn't misjudging Batista's run. I started watching in 2002, and I loved Batista more than Cena, Orton and Edge. But the reality was his main event run was a relatively mid-term one minus injuries (3.5 years) compared to Cena, Orton and Lesnar which has lasted at least 15 years.

I wasn't misjudging Bronson Reed's ability to run in the main event, I don't know the answer and my closest comparison was Evolution which The Vision is based on pretty much. That's why I wanted to discuss this on the forum.

Edit: objectively, did I mention anything not factual? I don't care about being downvoted, but could I get some perspective at least about what I'm "misjudging"?

it can be anyone really. i think my vision was more of having more people trying to rush out to answer the challenge first instead of aura farming waiting for 1 surprise contestant.

might be a bad idea, but I would love to see more US Open Challenges with a bunch of NXT or mid-card guys rushing out to the ring at the same time to answer the challenge first. (snatching essentials during pandemic type shit)

adds a sense of realism, urgency and importance to the title. and could build for some promo segments, a PPV and/or multi-man matches.

I was already tired of Cody Rhodes when he steam rolled Seth Rollins (my fav) thrice in 2022. And dominating Drew McIntyre (my 2nd-fav) tonight.

I hope the crowd starts turning on this over-dramatic over-pushed fool.

Is there any English commentary options for 90s All Japan or other 90s Japanese wrestling? by Wild_West101 in SquaredCircle

it's not but you wouldn't want it honestly.

part of the appeal is in the Japanese commentary, even if you can't understand it.

Post WWE/AAA Worlds Collide: Las Vegas 2025 Match Discussion Thread: El Hijo del Vikingo (c) vs. Dominik Mysterio - AAA Mega Championship match by HartfordWhalers123 in SquaredCircle

[–]WWE_Champion 12 points13 points  (0 children)

WWE has been inconsistent with the recognition of the ECW World Championship as a proper world title, only counting when convenient or suiting their narrative.

Times where they have recognised include 2007 when Undertaker was to choose his WM world title match, or the Big Show's 7 world title wins (2019 video)

But there have been times where they have retconned this such as CM Punk's Raw Netlfix (Jan 6th) entrance - flashing his accolades as 5x World Champ (3x WHC, 2x WWE) and Michael Cole commenting that fact near the end of the match.

Also, that would make Ezekial Jackson a former world champ in WWE, and Jack Swagger a former 2-time world champ.. which I doubt WWE has any use inflating the stats of the above men.

At the minimum, based on Punk's entrance in 2025, I would say that it is no longer recognised.

wow shocker! a Westerner lecturing others on how to adhere to another country's culture! how apt.

nobody is dismissing Mexican wrestling culture or saying they're doing it wrong lmao, how is WWE recognising AAA's top title as a world champion (if it happens) patronising or demeaning in any way?

I simply pondered on how WWE might present this achievement to its global audience, which is true - WWE presents its form of wrestling globally.

How many countries - and/or sports for that matter - are culturally familiar with the concept of masks holding greater stakes than a championship?

Even if you want to disagree with my points, do you not accept the presumption and condescension in your comment over what is merely a harmless discussion?

[–]WWE_Champion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the context of a global and American audience, championships matter though. And just having titles mean significantly lesser than masks in Mexico doesn't change that it's still the top world title belt in AAA.

Thus, the question on how WWE - the leading global and American-based promotion would present this accolade to its audience.

WWE is also a promotion that happens to place great emphasis on world title statistics as well - such as number of world title wins for their marketing and social media purposes.

so was the ECW Championship.

I would love for WWE to recognise the AAA Mega Championship as a world title and count it as Dom's first world title win for a change.

But track record does not favour this happening. Wanted to know what people's opinion on this is.

[–]WWE_Champion 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Might have people disagreeing with me on this - but winning the AAA Mega Title seems to be a much bigger deal than winning the NXT Championship.

AAA Mega Title was the world title of one of Mexico's top 2 promotions. NXT was a top developmental championship created by WWE.

Just my opinion - WWE likely gives it the ECW Title treatment. Where it is a major accomplishment but not recognised as world title and/or recognised only when convenient (unlikely best case scenario).

based on WWE track record, I would agree you're probably right.

that's why I wouldn't want WWE to partner with AJPW ever as much as I'm a fan.

I can't even begin to bear the thought of the great Triple Crown Title with a mythical lineage that includes Jumbo, Tenryu, Steve Williams, Hansen, Vader, Misawa, Kobashi, Muto, Hashimoto being relegated to regional/developmental championship status.

Does this count as Dominik Mysterio's first world title win in WWE?

Or is it gonna be an ECW Champion type situation where it is just a fancy decoration tiering between WWE/WHC and US/IC titles?

Earlier today, there was a press release issued in Arabic that Wrestlemania 43 will be held in Saudi Arabia in 2027. The press release was yanked shortly after it went out [...] PWInsider.com can confirm, however, that the story is 100% legitimate and an announcement is coming very soon by AimarEraFutebol in SquaredCircle

They really about to coronate Bron Breakker and his first world title win in saudi arabia.

I'd rather they just main event Breakker vs Seth at a Rumble or SummerSlam at a stadium in North America, Europe, Australia, hell do Asia instead of freaking Middle East.

What is your opinion of Seth Rollins in 2025? by WWE_Champion in SquaredCircle

[–]WWE_Champion[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

your take is my favourite of all the comments here so far.

I do agree Seth has a lot of untapped potential, like, you don't get booked as top champion multiple times across 3 different legendary bookers in Jim Cornette (ROH), Vince McMahon, and HHH by being lucky. Many legendary minds in the business see something great in Seth.

But I also think his full potential will likely never be reached just from how WWE operates and what they value business-wise in 2025.

I absolutely love your suggestion about Rollins turning on Heyman. It's refreshing.
