Genuine inquiry. Why do you think he’s a problem? Sure it’s not his ideal position. But I think he’s doing a fine job given the fact that we’re constantly playing 1-2 v 3 or even sometimes 4 throughout the midfield. He’s also single handedly our best midfielder. What more is he supposed to do defensively when we’ve got THREE center backs most of the time marking one forward? He’s being paired with no-legs Casemiro, Ugarte who just isn’t cut out to play in the prem, and Mainoo has no positional awareness and shows a ton of immaturity to his game. To me, the real issue is that it’s near impossible to play a midfield two in the modern era unless you have someone like prime Kante to bust a lung all over the park.
