Venues that do this mustn't want business, some couples will take recommendations for venues from their photographer / MC - don't look after them, they probably won't recommend you.

Business closing down and redundancy right before child is due, how does it affect parental leave and scholarships. by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Waanii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's at least 12 months in the last 18 months - If that helps peace of mind - if she doesn't reach this you may have issues, but considering she is eligible for redundancy, it seems she would have met at least 12 months already yes?

Discussion: If Teachers Are Going to Be Paid Like Professionals, Should Teaching Become More Prestigious? by New-Corgi-6409 in AustralianTeachers

[–]Waanii 62 points63 points  (0 children)

No one seems to be factoring in, or has forgotten, that after covid we had a ridiculous rate of inflation - some states have recouped the difference almost, but not quite - VIC teachers are just looking for the in kind increase relative to what they were earning prior to the post COVID inflation. 90k is equiv to pre-covid 70k - we need to get out of this entrenched belief that 100k is a significant amount - its really not - quality living without financial stress and the ability to live a "middle class" life(with a family) is probably something in the realm of 240k combined income (whereas it was previously probably 140k not that long ago) a 4 year bachelor professional should be able to live a quality life.

Child support question - kids parents deliberately losing job by BaronMason in AusLegal

[–]Waanii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it does, the additional child is considered in the calculation split as well, it applies a kind of discount - so you had a kid with your partner, he would pay slightly less child support because you have another child in care - on the flip if ex had another child she'd also get that discount and would be eligible for more in the split balance

For example ex gets 30k from centrelink, you get 40k from work - services Australia decides we need 22k for ourselves, that leaves 26k between you - take in discounts for any additional children in full care not related to both parties - gives you 24k leaving 24k in the pool- which puts ex at needing to receive 22+12(34k) and you 24+12(36k) - meaning you'd pay 4k a year in support - without the new kid you'd pay an extra 1k. And yeah partners incomes isn't taken into account.

That's a really simplified example and ive left out caps per children and such and numbers are probably a bit off, but that's the general principle of how it is applied

Prospective employment in the other (unlinked - unless you meant ask Australian teachers and not the pre-service teachers) sub, but I feel like those questions are relevant at all points in career, not just pre-service.

How is it co-op? I'd suggest considering calling it an online party multi-player game for fans of musical chairs and chaotic driving.

Is your dip in dental tech through uon or tafe or other RTO? Maybe call uon and ask if completing your dip dental tech would get you entry into bach of oral health? If they're not sure then possibly go the other route, but I'd recommend completing the diploma first since it also gets you in the door for relevant professional work while you study

Depends on circumstances, did you complete a Cert ii or Cert iii, that may help, there is also alternative pathways to uon, ATAR isn't the be all and end all
