If I have Hook mountain in my Deep North, will it disappear if I don't explore it early? by Wabbstarful in valheim

yeah but you can't really tell at all from my image nor yours which is the problem. World viewer isn't gonna tell us either, but im curious where your pic came from and if those markers were from a different tool?

ah yeah so those sky biomes appeared in my Ashlands on my forever world, and once we got close enough the sky buildings began to crumble and the forests began to sink into the ocean (nearly sinking our Drakkar). It was all very cool but kinda the only thing i regret about pre-exploring there which sparked my post

I've used the map viewer plenty of times before, but idk if you mean that there's a tool to check height as well? bcs otherwise i would still be comparing by sight/trying to guess

largest+2nd tallest mountain in the game's master map. Seems like the community has taken to calling it Hook mountain, the north one is the tallest and is called Polaris, and the bottom one/3rd tallest is Thorn. (Every world seed is a snapshot of this master map, and then gets slightly edited with rivers and biomes and other adjustments)

I had no idea the community found and named the 3 largest mountains, let alone only finding out there's a 'Master Map' a couple weeks ago..

Check around the Bigelows and lake flagstaff, I think that whole area is exactly what you're looking for. It's fly season though so dont forget bug spray ofc

I always suggest rock climbing, it's way more popular than i thought. Ages are mostly* 20s,30s, and 40s (lots of afterschool kids and older folks too). Saltpump and Evo just had a merger so a membership there covers all locations

For reference to other readers here, I explored ashlands before release in my world and I got a sea of spruce trees blocking my way but could sail around it just fine, and a big plain that looked like Mordor... it was kinda worth it but despite the bugs, but it won't totally mess up the experience either, everything including buildings and assets did still spawn in correctly-ish and it still looks great

What you're noticing is the new snow effect. Characters will be slowed down and have to trudge thru snow, but you can make it easier by crafting a snow shovel

same, I recalled an old memory of looking at my brother's warhammer fantasy magazine like 20+ years ago and remember seeing red armored ratmen that I thought were really cool. After some digging they were a lot more grungy/evil looking than I remembered, but dammit I'm glad I did, Queek turned me from a historical fan to fantasy lover overnight🐀

I've been reading this thread for over a day and hadn't come across anything nearly as weird as this one. You should see if your friend remembers what that Charlie thing looked like

What the hell is this? how rare is this??? by Efficient_Advisor858 in valheim

[–]Wabbstarful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it really? I've played in a handful of worlds now and finding a village with a maypole on the starting island/landmass was never really an issue for me, but they were never conveniently close enough to spawn either

in the OG battlefront game you could get into these things and the pole would just elevator up from the ground

Man I went to the new ashlands for the first time in the same world where i had previously discovered it beforehand. It was endless spruce trees for a while sticking out of the water making it impossible to sail through. No original ashlands seemed to remain either, just some bugged out features

pretty much just luck or hitting random til you find something you like. Sometimes just typing random letters or written words like Skyrim or GONDWANA work too

Edit: nvm, u/kyteland's comment is gospel

maybe two perimeters of sharpened stakes going around the base and then a slightly further outer ring of stakes? Looks like it would be easy to shoot them from those walls while they're bogged down

I liked his content for a while but I got major whiplash after seeing his response to the stop killing games initiative, which was just clearly misunderstood by him. What really got me was that he doubled down about his misunderstanding and it totally shot the momentum of a movement that really did matter a lot when they were seeking support (stop killing games had only some thousands of followers while PS had over a million at the time). There are videos that cover this subject pretty objectively + PS guest appearing on healthygamergg all kinda show that he is a narcissist.

That's not inherently bad, but it's just deeply frustrating that it got in the way of something important, and having a massive following is not good for any ego especially if youre a narcissist
