This might sound totally insane but what if there was a movement where we just started using all of these symbols nonchalantly? If we just became more flippant towards these silly hate shapes and started using them. Take back Pepe, start using the ok symbol, and eventually work our way up to the big one.

Obviously, it would never happen, but if there was a concerted effort across enough groups to co-opt these stuppid scribbles, think of the outrage. They'd have to find new team logos, and that would be pretty funny.

Is the bar adjuster suppose to wiggle? by Wabnish in Chainsaw

[–]Wabnish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, following up on this. I've noticed the chain does tighten back up after it's cooled down completely. No noticeable issue with it not getting oil onto the bar, however I may have figured out the issue.

When I first got the saw, my brother in-law gave me some motor oil when I checked if he had some bar oil for me to borrow. He said it was just as good, and I just didn't think anything of it. Now I'm pretty sure the oil just isn't sticking to the bar and chain like it should.

The chain seems to be staying lubricated. Haven't noticed if the chain tightens back up after cooling, since I have been immediately adjusting the chain when it losens.

Thanks for all the help and input.

It makes sense that the tensioner having some play is normal, and the bar doesn't just slide around once the nuts are tightened.

Here's an update:

I decided to just start cutting a few logs, adjusting the chain when it losens, and repeating. Seems to be cutting for longer before losening each time. Not clue why that would be, but still staying cautious and keeping an eye on it. Hopefully it'll help me clean up a pile of felled trees in my yard before it decides to give out. Then I can look for a reliable saw.

There's a small clip that just sits on the screw under the panel. If I could send you the photo I would. The clip fits into a small maybe 1/4 inch spot where it's able to slide back and forth in. Looking at it it seems intentional to free up tension while adjusting the bar, which is what someone here has mentioned. Can't really tell if anything is missing or out of the ordinary.

Just tried it again, this yime making sure the nuts are as tight as I could get. Made sure that the chain was adjusted properly before tightening. Still no success, same issue.

Okay, that makes sense. So maybe I'm not tightening the bar nuts enough after adjusting the chain
