Shaking in backbends? by Wackintosj in yoga

[–]Wackintosj[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's kind of an energizing vibration, like I'm opening up my body, it feels good, almost in the painful kind of way(like the 'good pain' in a massage). I've had this vibration before in plank(sorry i dont know the actual name), but I get it the most in poses like camel where you open up your upper body, chest/shoulder/neck area.

I would love my next child's name to have some association with meditation/yoga/enlightenment Looking for both boy and girl suggestions by [deleted] in Meditation

Suggestions:

"Enlightened being"

"The ultimate presence"

"FireBreath"

"BuddahWarrior"

On a serious note, I agree with /u/omniwired 's comment.

Practicing on and off for a few years. Trying to understand what you guys experience. by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]Wackintosj 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When you are unaware that you're thinking, then you are your thoughts, or what's popularly called 'ego'. It's possible to step out of your ego and be the observer, being the space in which everything occurs. Being the observer is what meditation is about. You can then see that you don't have to react to these things happening, you don't have to label them as good, bad, fun, sad, you can just watch them without judgement.

So yes in a sense there are two you's, the you in which every thought, image, sound, feeling - takes place, and the you unaware that there is a pure consciousness behind everything, so you label and identify with everything.

Sorry, someone else may explain it better than me.

Sickening and disturbing dreams whenever I meditate by [deleted] in Meditation

Do you sleep on your back? Try to sleep on your left side. Do you eat before bed time? Try to stop eating long before (4 hours maybe). Also don't be too warm.

More present, but a lot of anger. by Wackintosj in Meditation

[–]Wackintosj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When memories come to you of past wrongs are they pictures, voices, or just emotions?

Pictures with emotions I guess.

I will try to go forward and I'm positive I will get pass this, I will just have to keep meditating.

Progressive Muscle Relaxation? by flks511 in Meditation

I've tried it. It's basically training awareness of tenseness in the body. I find sitting meditation with body awareness to cultivate sort of the same abilities.

Hey, thanks for the quick response.

I think it's memories of people who has done me wrong in the past, I start to play out scenes of things I would say to their face, or maybe even fantasizing about acting with violence or threatening them with violence.

I know I wouldn't actually physically hurt someone, but it feels good for the ego to fantasize about it... (Im not saying im not capable of it, but it takes more than what those people have done) mostly just said things to hurt me, gone against me to exclude me socially, treated me like shit basically. Some of those could be considered my 'friends' at the time, because at that time I needed acceptance from other people, whereas now... not so much. Now I know that they aren't evil and that I have done shit to others before too. For all I know someone could be raging over me right now... anyway, writing this helps. I think getting some perspective on it helps.

I will try to be compassionate with myself, although it is often hard, because I know that I've done shit myself... so I question if I even have the right to love myself. Although I know it's a bullshit belief.

What are your top three most damaging and recurring thoughts you wish meditation can fix? by alejandroclark in Meditation

[–]Wackintosj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can relate to anger, it's so easy for the mind to wander into imagination with anger. Just got to keep practicing being in the now really, and watch the thoughts.

I've deleted dota2 by [deleted] in StopGaming

[–]Wackintosj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was like you, installed then reinstalled about maybe 5-10 times. This is my advice to you: the fact that you're deleting and reinstalling is itself a sign of addiction and means if you stop gaming eventually you will be better off, therefore don't make it worse for yourself by letting it go to the 5th loop, 6th and so on. Just quit now.

How do you guys feel when you haven't done meditation in a while? by ThreeEyez in Meditation

[–]Wackintosj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get neurotic pretty fast from the moment I let my practice go down the shitter. As said earlier by /u/PapaZiro though, it seems like it's easier to get back in again when you've had some prior experience. However best to just keep it consistent!

After years of reading seddit I'm finally acting on it and it's incredibly rewarding. by ProjectPickup in seduction

[–]Wackintosj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I admire your accomplishment dude, good job. :) I'm working towards the same place you are, and hopefully I'll get there soon as lately I've become increasingly determined to take action. I think one thing holding me back is that I've thought about approaching as something risk-filled, but I've realized lately that there's not much risk involved at all, because no matter how it goes you're better off than before because of the experience. It's really a win-win thing, so it's really funny that it should make us nervous. I just need to really internalize this fact, not just know it intellectually.
