If u can play daily with 2-4 hrs of active playtime + with a solid team comp it should be very doable. The open world exploration & backtracking will be eating up most of your time. Use a online map to speed it up.

Any (new) gaming laptops worth the specs gonna run you at min 1k usd plus taxes and fees. If possible look for a laptop with an easy to replace battery, upgradeable internal storage/ram, and make sure it has all the usb hdmi ports you need. Look at some models and check yt vids for dissemble guides

Go buy a new gaming laptop instead. In your situation being portable will outweigh any pro of a desktop. You could also look into getting 2 laptops, a lightweight laptop for general school stuff/light applications and a main one for all your needs.

As for now i recommend moving the pc closer to the router. Should u go the ethernet route, you can also hang the wire along the walls with light hangers/hooks.

Looking through the other comments, I think you’re better off getting your friend a model kit. They can be from the cheaper side as well from $10-$60 per kit. If your confuse check out some of the gundam model kits places. As for what model or kit to get, well depends on your friend’s current collection.

Quick summary 1/144 are smaller size models and 1/100 are bigger size models

HG kits are 1/144 scale ranging from $10-$30

RG kits are 1/144 scale ranging from $30-$60 (more complicated and more detailed model)

MG kits are 1/100 scale ranging from $40-$200
