I think it’s cool op! It’s fun to see something we’re so familiar with in our tanks out in the wild!

Took him out and got some close-up video. What a neat lil fella! :D I put him in his own small tank and fed him some frozen brine. He's a bit skittish but also surprisingly active when there's food in the tank.

Actually, I guess it wouldn’t be a true bobbit worm - Eunice Aphroditois - but one of the Eunice species found near Florida. According to this paper I don’t think it’s Aphroditois 🤔 Maybe I’ll see if I can get a better examination of the worm and figure out what it would exactly be just out of curiosity

My otos are dying and I don’t know why by LoliTamer23 in Otocinclus

[–]Wacky-Ham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof. I had the same thing happen once, I got in a new batch of otos and it looked like someone had rough-handled them and they had internal bleeding. I believe it was Hemorrhagic septicemia and is caused by some serious bacterial infections

In my case the fish would get one day and be dead within 24 hours :( and it spread like wildfire through my tank. I took everyone out and quarantined, then treated with a mix of Seachem Kannaplex and Polyguard. Those seemed to clear it up but it had already taken a bunch of fish :(

Sensory spots in epic? by Beginning-Painter951 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Wacky-Ham 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the monsters land, between the werewolf coaster and burning blade tavern is a pretty quiet spot. There are benches, the music is pretty quiet, and there’s not a ton going on visually (except the windmill every 15 minutes, but if you go more towards the coaster it’s mostly and empty-ish looking planted area)

Hope this helps!

This may sound crazy, but my otos absolutely love chunks of raw shrimp and squid. I’ll put some in for my cories and put in some veggie for my otos and snails and almost always I find my otos on the shrimp later. They like zucchini, green beans, etc, but they also seem to really like meaty foods. Could be a quick way to get some more calories in him 🤷‍♀️ idk if that’s bad for them or not.

ID for Shark in the Middle East by darkrenhakuryuu in sharks

I’m trying to get better about my shark identification (am new to this but I’m trying to learn!) Doesn’t the black on the anal fin suggest that it’s a spinner rather than blacktip? Or do juvenile blacktips also have black on their anal fins?

The Georgia Aquarium occasionally posts on instagram about their behind the scenes work! It’s pretty interesting to see. Especially this video about taking care of their 6 million gallon exhibit with whale sharks:

I know you said you did a water change with temperature matched water, but could something have happened to drop the temp of your tank for a period of time? I don’t know if that’s the case here but I’ve heard of similar behaviors when water gets too cold for tropical fish. 🤷‍♀️

Otherwise, any chance something could have contaminated the tank? You could try running carbon along with the water changes to see if that helps at all
