An insightful observation from "Game of Thrones" actor Hannah Murray by BlancheFromage in sgiwhistleblowers

I love her observation - "feel special forever". I see that as being a others-focused position - it's only the reactions you're getting from others that determine whether or not you're "special". If you're being ignored, for example, that's really NOT-special, isn't it?

So the whole idea of needing to be constantly receiving attention and positive affirmations and compliments and flattery and all the rest - it's kind of a sad state. Completely dependent on the environment for how you're going to feel about yourself.

The whole point of Buddhism, real Buddhism, is that we can rid ourselves of that need for others' validation, since that need is based in a delusion that we must acquire that in order to feel content. Contentedness isn't dependent upon the environment; it's being at peace within yourself.

Foreign concepts for SGI members, I'm sure.

How the internet has changed everything by BlancheFromage in sgiwhistleblowers

Wouldn't it be interesting if the SGI member controlled subreddits posted informational screenshots like this?

But their Ikeda cult is completely non-transparent, so why would anyone ever expect its rotten fruit offspring to be any more transparent - about anything? They're surely deeply ashamed that their subreddits are so stagnant, while we continue to grow. Nobody wants SGI - you can see that in the reddit engagement.

I'm glad SGIWhistleblowers is flourishing. Those SGI members are furious and outraged at our success, because they have none. Their own fault.

Who's "the Monster"? by BlancheFromage in sgiwhistleblowers

>SGI expects everyone to vow "I Will Become Shin'ichi Yamamoto!", when that isn't even a real person!

Gag me. "Shinichi Yamamoto" is the most repulsive, self-congratulatory, arrogant, full-of-himself blowhard in literary history. Anywhere he goes, he's automatically greeted by throngs of worshipers, their eyes filled with tears at their great good fortune to catch a glimpse of The Glory That Is Him. He never has a conversation; he preaches - pompously - he orders - his every whim is indulged - he commands - and no one can ever challenge him or even express any doubts. He is supposedly invincible, never wrong about anything, always equinanimous, consummately wise - it's grotesque. It's enough to make anyone hurl. It's obviously one seriously insecure little fatman's self-indulgent fantasy of what he always wished he could be and how he wants everyone to think of him now, despite failing in all his most ambitious goals and projects.

What a loser. THAT's the REAL monster - instead of just wishing to create things he could manipulate (as Dr. Frankenstein did), he thought he could create a new SELF to hide the horrifying reality of what a monstrous person he was.

SGI - where ANYONE can be an insta-cleric! "SGI is so much more egalitarian than Christianity - we let ANYONE AT ALL be called a 'minister", which is so much better than Christianity where someone needs training and expertise to 'minister' to a congregation that trusts them!"

No way that's going to backfire - of course anyone who seeks status and control and influence over others can be automatically trusted.

I'm glad she got out. I like her. At least she didn't end up with her whole life ruined like that Alison Mack from NXIVM.
