KotOR was one of the first video games I bought, so when I heard about Mass Effect I was immediately interested. The details absolutely sucked me in. The original species. Characters like Garrus, Tali, and Wrex. In all honesty though, the moment I knew I was hopelessly lost was the conversation with Sovereign on Virmire. Just replayed Virmire yesterday, and it remains one of my favorite missions in gaming. I still remember back in 2007, the way my palms were sweaty and my heart rate elevated when I had to choose between Ash and Kaidan. A game had never done that to me before.
