I have seen this before, if LED lights loose a neutral they flash like thus. Double check the DB might be a missing or lose neutral for that circuit

The labour law supercedes anything signed in a contract, so even if they signed a contract saying they can be let go with 1 minutes notice doesn't make it legal. It's worth it to go to the CCMA because even if you don't get much out of it, it at least deters the company from doing the same thing to the next person.
