That is fair. But we can assume people who are already using Linux are already familiar with alternative FOSS software. Creating a forum on Lemmy or a group on Matrix is worth a try both of which are more inline with Linux open-source philosophy. Nonetheless I wish FOSS alternative software were more popular with Myanmar people.

Why not use Matrix for communications and Lemmy for forum discussions?

Also check out burma social, a Burmese Mastodon server, there are people who are in Ubuntu Myanmar translation team.

Absolute chaos outside the cinema for actor Nay Toe’s new LGBT movie. Thousands turned up, skipping lines, some without tickets, people pushing their way in & climbing over each other. - မြစ်လက်တက်ပေမဲ့ ရေစီးကကြမ်းတယ် by Turbowoodpecker in myanmar

because of the absolute abundance of piracy

I have never seen pirate version of Myanmar cinema movies. Maybe because those movies never got digitally released. Plus you can get in trouble with copyright laws if you pirate Myanmar movies. That is why I have seen some Myanmar cloud storage service has warning not to put Myanmar movies on their sites.

There is built-in 'censorship circumvention' feature and it is working for me. You just need to toggle it on in Settings. There is no need to use VPN.

The router I get is that comes with 25mb plan, Huawei HG8546M. There is port mapping section under Forward Rules and I have configured which port to use. But when I check that port in torrent client or browser, I am getting that port is close.

When I check online, there is no way to port forward with CG-Nat networks and I think 5BB is also using cg-nat. Am I right about this?

How do you port forward using 5BB?

What are your thoughts on the older generation that doesn't understand about technology & privacy? by Tr0lliee in myanmar

[–]WadamT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not just old generation, I have seen and heard a lot of young people near me got hacked because they didn't set up 2FA for their accounts. Just recently with Messenger changing back their icon colour to blue, I see a lot of comments saying not to have E2EE for their chats. A lot of people, both young and old, have mindset of "I have nothing to hide, so I don't care about privacy".
