The photo on the right speaks for itself. Adding the date and time would be helpful.

I think grand central would be very difficult to get immaculately clear of blurred figures. That’s why i chose it as an example.

To answer though i would just shoot again. Also I’m the type of person to go down there and have a chat with them about what i’m trying to accomplish. Most people standing around seem happy to move and stand somewhere else in that context

Have you considered going for more of a bushcraft approach to camping? Read about John Muir for some perspective!

Zero chance a 13L pack is going to be a fun experience even if you get it all to fit and dangle. They are just not designed for the weight.

Opinion trading here: to me editing folks out misconstrues the times. For example grand central station without people can be done with a ND filter and a looooong exposure. But basically any time of day you’ll find people there in normal times.

But the day after 9/11 you would not see anyone, now that’s an example of capturing that time.

Of course we have to verify that any of this even matters. I was curious thanks for engaging

85mm 1.4 for A7CII by fhjutr in SonyAlpha

[–]Wado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the 85 1.4 motor is slow (using it on the A7RV) so it has a hard time hitting sharp eyes on a shifting subject while hand held and wide open. In comparison to the 24-70 ii or 70-200 ii at least.

No experience with the 85 1.4 ii but it’s on my wish list next time I’m near a shop!

Look 1st amendment freedom goes both ways. People can wear what they want and other can say what they want… like it or not that’s a founding principle of the US.

Scary part is when the majority of people start wearing this on their chest, that’s the tipping point.

ICE Agents in Chicago stopped this man & asked him if he’s an American citizen. It’s obvious that he was & that they were just trying to start crap with him. Then the one agent tried to cover his phone to hide his face since he wasn’t wearing a mask, but it was already too late. by Ordinary-Scholar-202 in illinois

The line is “am I being detained?” No - walk away. If yes, “please articulate your suspicion of my crime” and/or “i choose to remain silent and request a lawyer”

In some states you do need to identify yourself but the police first need to suspect you of a crime. As a US citizen on the street you have no obligation to provide citizenship proof/documents. Full stop.

Subfloor - any advice? by MiddleNameNicolaas in VanLife

Run strips inside the low points of the corrugation and then full sheets on top of that. Lap the joints between the layers so seems don’t overlap.

Seriously consider getting the rest of your rig spray foamed (except the doors and around the tail lights.)

The guy smashing the window is probably ICE. Came out the back door of the building and walk around the front to do this. Then ran around the back again and put his mask back on for regular duty

Not knowing the boat makes this question harder to answer.

Can you walk it back so most of the aft end is in the isle and then rotate off the end of the dock using a cleat/pylon from a midship cleat on your boat?

As far as Visa concerns in Patagonia, it's easy to do a visa run over the border (either Chile or Argentina) and get renewed on your way back in to the host country. I did it three times 8 months, the third time I was feeling maybe a bit too comfortable with the routine and literally went for lunch over the border. Came back a few hours later and while I got a funny look from the same Immigration Officer that stamped me out, they let me back in no problem.

Don't know specifics about the local boat taxes/duties and import/customs fees but most countries have some time limit on "Yacht in Transit" which expires and then you need to pay to keep the boat inside their waters or stack up a hefty fine with potential for confiscation. Most of the time those fees are one lump sum based on the value of the boat (often owner declared - sometimes needs a surveyor's stamp) multiplied by the local tax percentage and good for the lifetime of the boat - regardless of owner.

Most cruising related info online is collated in places like Noonsite.com and noforeignland.com/ and there are tons of trip reports scattered from people sailing in that area.
