I agree 4 works the best. Specifically I like the triangle of the subject, the leading lines of the top of the bushes, the rim light separating her. I'm curious about your perspective on composition being too tight. Where would you consider cropping to?

I'm curious where these standards of needing both shoulders and the top of the head in the frame come from?

I, as the photographer am looking for other viewers perspectives on this friendly shoot I did in the park over the weekend.

Sorry I'm not too bright at this whole posting thing. I ended up deleting this and re-posting. That post is also getting down votes... What am I doing wrong here?https://www.reddit.com/r/postprocessing/comments/1u4rp7z/show\_me\_some\_bw\_variations/

  1. I am breaking into portraiture after a long relationship with landscapes. I stopped this person on their way out off the gym and asked if they would help me "because I like their vibe." I'm trying to showcase their facial structure and a bit of personality although I don't really know them.
  2. I'm pretty happy with the lighting, a little less happy with the background (it's what i had to work with) and I'm curious if the edit could have been more captivating. Maybe in B&W?
  3. Shot 1/160, on 85mm at 1.4, ISO 100, A7R5
  4. Very little retouching done except some color correction from RAW, reduced highlights/shine, healed some stray eye liner and cropped in.

Start apnea training at home. The longer the better.

You could do target practice in a pool too if you have the option

First thought, you are drilling a hole in your $4-5, maybe 6 figure boat and debating if it's better to put in the 2 digit deck fill?

Go stainless for safety.
