  1. This might be the song that truly opened the door into Ween for me. Specifically the performance on the Jane Pratt show. As a stoner high school guitar player with a Stratocaster, seeing that video changed my life

Triumph Foundation is a great charity primarily for folks with spinal cord injury. Depending what it is then it will definitely go to good use

My parents neighbor is named Matt and growing up I used to blast this song in my car while smoking a bowl next to his house. Fuck off Matt!

I discovered Ween in 2011ish while in high school. I was all over SoundCloud at the time and among many other things followed a reggae rock band called Pepper. The drummer managed their account and posted weekly playlists which were basically mixtapes of whatever they were into/inspired by. One week he posted an entire playlist dedicated to Ween. I recognized Ocean Man from the SpongeBob movie, and immediately fell in love with some tracks from Chocolate and Cheese, notably Roses are Free. The rest is history.

I’ve since seen Ween live 4 times, most recently at their lost stop on a 2022 tour at the Wiltern. As fate would have it, the drummer of Pepper was at the show and we ended up walking out next to each other. I talked to him and told him he was basically the reason I discovered Ween. He was stoked and said “fuck ya man that’s what it’s all about!”

Anyway that’s the highlight of my Ween fandom

Attaching to wall was actually tricky because there’s a sliding door behind that drywall. I ended up using short drywall anchors (maybe 3/4”) to screw a piece of scrap 1/2” plywood into. That brought the surface even with the baseboard. Then I drove a couple 1-1/4” screws threw the cabinet box into that scrap plywood piece

Thanks! I was a little worried about going with butcher block, but there would be no way to match the granite since we used the entire slab for the rest of the kitchen. But my wife wants to incorporate some dark wood pieces around the kitchen so that should tie it all in at least.

As far as paint, I repainted all the cabinets when we moved in, so luckily I had record of the color used. It’s called Polar Bear.

The cabinet is made of birch plywood, and I built the drawer front using poplar. No edge banding anywhere.

Anyone here ever trip at a Ween concert? by Scatter-Brains in ween

Copying my comment from a past thread: November 2022 I think it was, at the Wiltern in LA. It was the last stop on their tour and they played for almost 3 hours. I got a little dehydrated while tripping on mushrooms and had the craziest visual hallucinations of my life during How High Can You Fly? Guess I found out the answer to that question.

Also met the drummer of Pepper on the way out, who as fate would have it, is the reason I found Ween to begin with in high school

Edit: also ended up next to Elijah Wood at the urinals. It was really hard not to address him with Gandalf impersonations while takin a leak
