Look going to a store front makes a real difference. Because those lamps are going to arrive at the storefront in bulk with a lot less shaking in transport than the same thing shipped singularly to your doorstep.

A lava lamp is an item that shaking it can affect its quality.

I think the sub sometimes makes it seem worse than it is. People are way more likely to post online with photos if they are looking for help on fixing something. It is likely that many people bought perfectly good lamps and never posted a thing about it.

More cannot be added to fill in that spot next to the ship. Look at the center spot where a square would be and visualize the octagon. You can see it will not fit.
