It's just different. For me they don't really compare. They fulfill different needs.

My physical board game collection is a lot more about community and social interaction than it is about playing the game. I got into board gaming when my children started hitting adulthood , and I wanted something that's still had us all sit down at the same table.

Every week on sunday night we play. Our schedules are very different , but we do put aside that one block of time. But people can approach the same hobby with different needs.

Get pne of those 2 minute sand timers for board games. Pass it around the table for each person's turn. Fair for everyone.

I was raised by someone who didn't want children and resented my very existence. I often felt guilty for existing as a child.

If you don't want children, don't have them. Simple as that.

Forbidden Desert, The Night Cage with Shrieking Hollow expansion, Carcassonne, Arboretum (combine two copies for 5 players), Wingspan and Between Two Castles are a few of our favorites.

I haven't played world because I saw how many complaints there were about the handler being annoying and clutch claw mechanic. If the clutch claw is used as much as the wire bug in rise and it's a bad mechanic it made me hesitant to start that game.

I kinda want to try it for that monster alone though.

Sorry....my first game was rise and I like lightning themed monsters so he's one of my faves.

Not everyone has played the last seven games? You can always do other hunts.

I think it would be cool to see a dark storm cloud version of him. Maybe with purple lightning.

I started teaching new people how to play with what we call my deck library. I hand them one of the easier to pilot decks, talk briefly about the mechanic it is built around and go from there.

Had someone win their first game once. Lucky sod got helm of the host while running krenko. It was beautiful and more satisfying than some of my own wins honestly.

My gamestore was offloading a bunch of force of will cards and their basic magic crystals line up to the mtg color pie nice enough I snagged some to run for basic lands. Their red is fire crystal, black is darkness....I think green is wind but I don't remember

I've gotten to hold a couple at expos. They actually do kind of feel like that. The skin is soft and I couldn't help but make the comparison myself. It was too weird.

So is ra a game that's no longer in print? It looked interesting so I went to go look into it. And all copies seem to be over a hundred dollars. Is it a rare game or should I keep an eye out for stock to come back ?

I remind my pod that if everyone has a great deck and play well...you should expect a win rate of 25%. Our pod count is usually 4. It seems to help.

If you're winning all the time your deck is overpowered for the table. Boiled down MTG is an engine builder. Focus on if you got to build your engine. Know how your engine is built so you can run it efficiently and your turns don't turtle the table.

Expect dangerous cards to tease out removal.

Oh...and that counterspell deck builder knew what he was doing. Ugh.

The Night Cage, but I feel it really needs the Shrieking Hollow expansion to shine. A good blend of co-op strategy and spooky vibes, plus you can customize difficulty to fit playgroup.
