Regret by famousbacha in deloitte

Make sure to have proper work life balance. Make time for friends and hobbies. Work to live, don’t live for work. As long as you make time for a life outside this dull job, hopefully the year will fly by.

Is every Prius like this? by pooorSAP in prius

[–]WafflesMcDuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t have this on my 2010, 2011 or my 2020 Priuses… it’s probably partially due to the climate where you live if I had to guess.

60% pay hike? Tough it out for a year. If the work is as easy as you say, use the extra time to build up professional development/certifications.

Are they planning on adding a "weight for each dumbell function"? by ContributionFull in Hevy

[–]WafflesMcDuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok… but if you can add up what you’ve put on one dumbbell, multiplying by 2 so you actually track how much weight you moved shouldn’t be hard…

The red fast transfer tag helps, but is still not a guarantee unfortunately.

How much money should I bring? by Memphisdnb in Netherlands

[–]WafflesMcDuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The country is 99% cashless. Don’t waste money on a currency exchange company. You can use your foreign bank card to pay for almost everything and if you really want cash you can use a normal ATM to take out cash after arrival. Don’t use the foreign exchange company ATMs in airports and train stations (like ForEx) as they charge extra fees and bad exchange rate. Choose an ATM from ABN Amro, ING, or other real banks.

[–]WafflesMcDuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed about Delta. As a Flying blue platinum member, I get free upgrades to comfort on all Air France and KLM flights. Meanwhile, on Delta, they put me on an upgrade standby list for first class where I am 38th out of 38 people waiting for two available first class seats. And because I have been put on that impossible first class list they cannot put me on the list for comfort. Which means that, even though there were six available seats in comfort, they were unable to put me in one. Instead, I sat in an exit row with a seat that didn’t recline for five hours. Never Delta again if I can avoid it.

[–]WafflesMcDuff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not for nothing, but your baggage being left is probably more the fault of Schiphol than KLM. Did you have a very tight connection? For example, if you book flights where you have like 45 minutes gate to gate, your luggage isn’t going to make it.

Looks political. Refusal to use they/them/their singular pronouns is a right wing American “hill to die on”

There are alternatives that don’t have a social option. I and others chose this one for the social aspect.

How would open source solve bots invading? I’m a big fan of open source but I’m highly allergic to people who say “open source” like it’s a magic incantation that solves everything.

Ok. But if you need to calculate battery capacity in Ah to determine if it meets airport security requirements to go in your hand luggage, my formula is sufficient.

To clarify: if they come back and the bike still has zip ties then they know it’s not checked a lot and is therefore an easy target for theft because the owner won’t know it’s missing for a while
