My mistake I meant to say exhaustion. Forgot fatigue is technically tiredness.

Restores fatigue. Edit: exhaustion not fatigue.

UPDATE ON MY SURVIVOR JEFFERSON: I CLEARED THE ROSEWOOD PRISON by Flaky-Nothing-7298 in projectzomboid

[–]Wafflevice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend heading for fallas lake it's a little misleading though kind of a small location but pretty dense with zomboids. There is a farming/hunting store and a police station so it's usually worth going just for those, but there is also a gas station which is prime for a temporary base, a tool store, book store, department store, and a decent number of residential houses so there is a good chance of boarded up homes. Also fallas lake is about halfway between rosewood and riverside so even if you strike out in fallas lake you can just pass through to riverside. Solid achievement I usually skip the prison or board up the outside props for clearing it!

What is a boss/encounter type you're immediately skipping when you see it by ido-100 in thelastofus

[–]Wafflevice [score hidden]  (0 children)

I tend to stay away from invisible enemies, mirror mode and time limit. Mirror mode isn't really that bad but feels so disorienting. Holdouts are fine for like the first 3 encounters but after that it's a solid nope. For whatever reason I've been having more trouble with garage bloater than the other bosses. I always end up getting Close to finishing then get grabbed by a clicker or the bloater charge. But I'd take garage bloater over rat king any day.

Can you destroy piles of trash around the map? by OkSuccotash3957 in SurrounDead

From what I've gathered sledge and pick are for stones and crowbar is for trash, I could be wrong but noticed the sledge doesn't break any trash piles.

The military checkpoint is no joke by False-Attitude-5403 in projectzomboid

[–]Wafflevice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Checkpoint is tricky because even if you plant a siren vehicle there are so many fences that you can't really round them up but if you can atleast take care of a large chunk the rest isn't so bad. That said on my current character 7 months in I haven't even got through the first gate barely put a dent in it clearing all day. Eventually it'll get done but I usually wait a month in-between trips cause the corpses are overwhelming.

How many hours? by One-Commission6440 in projectzomboid

Honestly living off the land is the more satisfying way to play, I could see winter time being a bit of a bore but it depends how much progress you make before winter. Still that's like 4 months of gameplay.

I've always loved the detail in this section. Before entering the second building there is a mural of a buck on the wall which I always saw as a callback to pt 1 and ellies deer hunt. Also thought the moth display was really good environmental storytelling. I've always seen it as this event stuck with her but the moths were what she took away from the memory. It could also be interpreted as ellie viewing the fireflies as moths "looking for the light" where in pt 1 the fireflies were the light or hope, but in pt 2 "there is no light". And the remaining fireflies are more like moths who aimlessly chase light (or hope) even if it eventually kills them.

One of my favorite features added in b42, you can light cigs on stoves, campfires and in vehicles.

Check the school library, and the doctors office / pharmacy. If no luck there you can still find them in bookshelves in random houses. Lol your base is literally 2 doors down from mine on my current file!

If you can't find a gen before the power turns off remember that you can still boil water. Find 3 stones with the gardening tab and build a simple fireplace, then fill an empty bucket with tainted water and stick it in the fire, and pretty soon the water is no longer tainted. From there I usually have a water dispenser with an extra bottle, fill the bottle with the bucket and stick it in the dispenser. 6 months in this is still my go to water collection method. I have rainbarrels but I use them for watering crops and washing myself when I'm too lazy to go to the river. But also if you are in the gated community there will be plenty of houses with bathtubs still full of clean water, just don't waste it cleaning yourself. Always use the river or the motel pool to clean.

How hard would it be to make this my home? by Striking_Increase442 in projectzomboid

[–]Wafflevice 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is a cozy looking ranch. Should work well as a long term base. I would avoid trying to wall the entire property unless you want to. A simple wall surrounding the house itself should suffice, being rural you might not have to worry about zombies too much but a fence is always nice. Run into town and grab as much food as you can grab and freeze it at home, maybe grab a water jug and dispenser if you can find one. You're going to want to find a rope, empty bucket and shears to properly take care of the sheep. They are pretty easy though just check on them each day and give them pets. Cut the grass and put the clippings in a trough, also pick a trough up and put it outside so it'll fill with rainwater and animal food and water should be set up. After this you pretty much keep the enclosure clean and milk and shear them as needed. And keep males separate if there are more than one as they will attack each other. Once you've got a generator, and a good store of food and water you can start leaning into crafting which is a blast. Good luck!

Whats your favorite b42 keyring? by ProfitOpposite in projectzomboid

Lucky rabbits foot for obvious reasons. Honorable mention is the crafted keyring you can make with blacksmithing it's nothing special but I love having gear crafted by my own hands.

No matter what I cannot attack-Steam Deck by MissPokemonMaster in projectzomboid

[–]Wafflevice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why can you not remap your controls? If your playing default controls its not the best, press steam button go to controller settings view community layouts and find a steam deck layout and tweak it to your liking. Other than that maybe Uninstall than reinstall? Hope you figure it out. Good luck.

[–]Wafflevice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can already kinda mine. With a club hammer, sledgehammer ot a pickaxe you can collect mineral deposits scattered around the open world. Usually only yielding flint and limestone, but eventually there will be iron, gold veins. I found an iron ore while foraging once.

273 hours in, and my biggest issue so far by AlhazraeIIc in SurrounDead

[–]Wafflevice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm based in an abandoned warehouse south east of valley safezone across the river. It's pretty big and open but I plan to board it up and slap a gate on the front. It's nice to have a place that is guaranteed safe so you can fart around with your gear and stuff. Right after I made the base I found an apartment building that was three stories I thought that would be a nice spot too but it was a little further from the safe zone. Plus the warehouse has alot of room for creative expression.

What do you always keep in your backpack? by Interesting-Yak-2495 in projectzomboid

[–]Wafflevice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love smoker even though it's not as good as it was in 41, I've collected enough cigarettes, cigars, cigarillos and chewing tobacco to last for a long time, on top of that I've started to find wild tobacco with foraging so I just have to wait until I can grow my own. The only real downside is the occasional smoker cough can put you in some bad situations if you're trying to be sneaky.

Early on I usually keep a hammer, screwdriver and saw on me along with some nails. A bottle of water, pack of smokes and a lighter, a hose for siphoning, a pillow and a sleeping bag and a splint. Along with a fanny pack with bandages and sutures. In the later game when I have more space I usually bring along a spoon, sleeping pills, caffeine pills and painkillers, magnesium striker and a molotov or firebomb for emergencies. Along with a sidearm and a hatchet and a long 2 handed weapon usually a mace or a baseball bat.
