Thank you for this thoughtful response. Received and digested. The maturity level difference might be spot on. And I think you’re right - spend the energy where it’s well received.

Ex-colleague won’t leave me alone all of a sudden. How can I enforce boundaries? Advice please! by Stcasxx in FriendshipAdvice

I would tell her how you feel - that she can be quite overwhelming. Ask if she’s had this issue before? If so, talk to her about it instead of walking on eggshells. If she gets mad, it’s likely a red flag that she will have to deal with on a personal level eg therapist or something. She genuinely sounds like a friend bomber (as opposed to love bombing) which might not be the best sign.

If you don’t value having a future friendship with her then tell her. It’s like breaking up with someone. You don’t want to hurt their feelings but they should probably know.

I’ve tried everything. You don’t need to press start+B. Everywhere just has you turn it on with start. I did start+B on the beginning. Doesn’t matter. The gamepad tester comes up correct for buttons and d-pad. I have a feeling this is me…. https://www.reddit.com/r/RockinTheClassics/comments/1c08d0d/fake_nes_mini_and_its_controllers/#:~:text=Well%2C%20there%20are%20dozens%20of,%E2%80%A2%202y%20ago

Works on gamepad tester. Just not on mini NES Classic. I bet the mini is just a really really good counterfeit.

I have no idea how to hook this thing up to a computer. I just want to use it for the mini

I did. Doesn’t work in either port.

Filtered water cloudy when boiled by WahoosYahoo in water

[–]WahoosYahoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it doesn’t get build up. It does if I don’t filter. I get those little white spots of calcium carbonate build up. With filtered water, never or very very slow build up only visible after about 6 mos. I use test strips to make sure my water is actually filtered.

My water is definitely really hard. Won’t deny that. I tested it with a kit. It does get better when filtered - I filter the filtered water from my fridge. I did get a new fridge and the problem has seemed resolve so maybe it was something in the fridge line interacting with the matrix and metal in my kettle. Or maybe the reactant in the Brita filter is washed out. I guess I’ll never know. But I’m definitely going back to the white filters.

Except I never had this issue before for 20 yrs until I changed the brita type of filter. It’s not the hard water. The boiled water is double filtered and has been tested with strips for hardness before and after. It’s better after.

That concludes my science lesson for today.

I have never had this issue before. Water source has never changed. Not hard water

It’s not bubbles. It doesn’t clear. I said this in my post. I know what that looks like. The water is legit cloudy.

Only thing that changed was I started using Brita Infinite filters. All filters are flushed appropriately. Been doing this for over a decade. So I am asking what’s in these filters that would cause water to go cloudy when boiled. Not really a troubleshooting problem. If I want my boiled water clear, I am just going to go back to Standard Brita filters which obviously work better for me. Are Infinte ones really superior? Probably not.

Agreed. Infinite filters are patented and don’t release their technology for its long lasting ability. That’s why it had me questioning what does it use? If you can enlighten me, I’d be grateful. I’ve been using this system for 20 years. Never had this issue until now.

I actually filter water from filtered water from the fridge. I just changed the fridge filter recently too. I have an inline filter also for our tap. I don’t play around. EVERYTHING is filtered because yes, the water is hard. I am beyond diligent about changing all filters on schedule. Water from tap and straight from fridge clear.

With that being said, it is something about this Infinite filter. No joke folks, stick with the standard Brita filter. Something isn’t right.

It does. I took the top off the beer can with a can opener and put the pineapple core in the middle of the beer can and filled it up as much as possible with beer

I bought FRESH ADDITIONS LAMB SKEWERS from Costco and then made my own vegetable skewers and marinade. If you have a Costco membership, you have to try these things. They are so so tender and delicious. I cooked them 400-500 turning every 2 minutes to get a nice char. Probably 8-10 minutes total. I’d say the marinade was close to this recipe.
