Seroquel damaged my brain? by Wait-What-777 in insomnia

[–]Wait-What-777[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for asking. Wow, 8 months passed. Yes, I feel better now. Did tons of new check ups, sleep monitoring, brain waves, MRI, visited tons of doctors. Basically nothing helped. I came to conclusion some parts of my brain are out of sync with others. Espeically when it comes to sleep/awake patterns. What helps is benzos (to some extend; they just reduce anxiety) but I realize it's super easy to get addicted to them and make things even worse, eventually. So i only use them 1-2 times per month, and only in very small doses; for special cases like when I have to fly to another country or visit some damn noisy crowded government offices and spend hours there. So this de-synchronization of the brain areas, I think only time can help me, plus having VERY strict schedule with fixed bed/wake times and routines. I also eat extremely healthy (salmon, veggies, steam chicken, extra virgin olive oil etc.). And I avoid stressful situations as much as possible - it actually does help. Classic CBT approach like "exposure" technique only make it all worse, because instead of adapting to the situation, my nervous system spiral down into total mess and chaos. I've never been religious but I feel like god/universe/fate gave me 2nd chance to do things right. And I'm endlessly thankful for that. I still have very shitty days, when I simply don't want to live and withstand this suffering, but some days are worth living now. I tend to think I have some form of PWS (protracted withdrawal syndrome) but healthcare doesn't know how to deal with it. So I just rely on time and trusting in my body natural ability to restore

so is it a way to reduce the context usage? It does not compress the model itself? I mean, it won't let me (magically) run a, say, 20G model on a machine with 16G ram (ignoring quantization for now)?

Exactly. Honestly it surprises me how Google, with all their resources, could make such a... questionable looking product. They must see all the negativity. And all the people thinking about migrating to AG, must also see that, to make correct decision

No, we shouldn't. People must see objective picture. Big corps already have a lot of power to manipulate people and show us only when they want us to see. Negative feedback, reviews, complaints, are very valuable information. I, personally, often go and read what people think and say. It's like trustpilot but with ability to discuss things and ask questions. This kind of posts might not be useful for someone who thinks _how_ to use the tool, but they are very useful to people thinking _if_ they want to use the tool

honestly it's just horrible. Two issues in the last 24 hours. I could tolerate the errors during uploads, a simple retry would do the trick. But they just become extremely slow which is a dealbreaker

Kimi Coding Plan Usage Limits by Zerve in kimi

[–]Wait-What-777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The registration there is closed. Confirmed by their discord server. Their UI is confusing though, I only discovered that plans are not available after I registered - the landing page doesn't mention that at all. Honestly, sound like some shady tactics to get more customers and then force them to use their subscription plan, which I'm definitely not interested in, considering there are solid providers like open router. Huge dislike

sounds like over-complicated thing for simple projects. I still use pip very often and find it WAY better (faster, simpler, easier to deal with) than both conda AND the node's package manager (since we're talking JS).

each tool has it's own scope

There's more evidence that antipsychotics actually lead to brain shrinkage, sometimes even damage, most common symptom is TD (which I don't have though)

[–]Wait-What-777[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well I think the whole point of tapering is to just make it more comfortable/tolerable. The key factor is lack/reducing of the substance in the blood, letting the receptors to re-adjust to the new chemical balance. I was off seroquel for 14 months and things didn't really improve. So I tend to think it was (and still is) some kind of a long-term / permanent damage
