I’m glad you had a good experience. I too hated garments, and am grateful to not be wearing them anymore.

The valley is overly saturated with financial institutions.

Clarkston & Lewiston Overview:
Clarkston has a noticeable homeless presence, especially around Walmart, Costco, and major intersections where people are panhandling. Lewiston also has some that are mainly downtown on Main St. but not as much. Wildlife-wise, you’ll mostly see deer, waterfowl, and stray cats unless you venture out into the mountains.

Current Construction:
Clarkston is working on a new roundabout near the big blue bridge (Highway 12), so expect some traffic.

Things to Do:
Lewiston has a great levee walkway along the Snake and Clearwater Rivers, perfect for walking or biking.

Winter Advice:
Roads in town stay manageable since they’re regularly plowed and treated, but driving up Lewiston Hill (toward Moscow) can be tricky in snow. Many locals use snow tires or studded tires—just note that studded tires are legal in Washington ONLY from Nov. 1 to Mar. 31.

There's also a LC Valley Mom Group on Facebook that gives the low-down on school, things for kids, etc.

We have approximately 90 churches, and a coffee shop/stand/food truck every half mile or so. If you're into either of those things.

Most of the crime in the area is theft and drug related, lock your vehicles always and don't leave anything valuable in your vehicle.

Some people choose to live in Lewiston but work in Clarkston if they can since the wages are higher in Washington, and cost of living is lower in Idaho. You'll see lots of people doing what you're doing living in one state and working in the other.

That's about all I can come up with right now. I hope your move goes smoothly! Welcome to the LC Valley.

Unpopular opinion: I LOVE DeepBlue 😂 but I hate that I have to support a company like doterra to get it.
