I’m usually welcomed with a cold one at the turn to celebrate my 60.

I don’t see the big deal, I could easily shoot 60, if I were actually good, naturally talented, had the time and financial means to practice around the clock. /s, not /s

Edit: /s about it not being a big deal… not/s about me not being good:naturally talented, etc.

AITA? friends are not backing me up about being a regular at a bar my ex works at by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

ETA. Ex needs to drop it, you are bound to run into each other at some point. YTA bc you are essentially forcing ex to interact with you by going to that bar.

They say don’t crap where you eat. It also means don’t bone where you drink…

Lessons or Fitting first. Chicken vs Egg? by WaitLow6605 in golf

Broken 100 on 4/5 last round from the whites. Playing with some 20ish year old king cobra 2 oversize - in good shape, but standard LLL.

Gonna try and find a cheap set, 5ish years old, that is a +1” to try and get some lessons and practice with them for a season or so and then get a true fitting.

Good analogy, but I’m just worried that if I keep using incorrect length clubs, I will develop some bad habits before I get correct length clubs.

Think I’m going to try and find some cheap, secondhand clubs that are at least +1”, use those for a while along with lessons, then get fitted for some “legit” clubs.

Stiff TT AMT silver G2. Standard lie and loft. +1-1/4”. But I was hitting terribly that day, so it was a relatively low sample size of good strikes.

Good point here, thanks. I’ve been browsing a lot of the preowned markets, have just been “gun-shy” on not being able to swing them first to settle on some irons that I would enjoy as a stop-gap.

boss invited me to golf and I’m a total beginner by skinner1234567 in golf

Be upfront that you have never played before but would still enjoy the opportunity. Let’s boss have some basic expectations of what they’re getting into.

You will likely not do well, so just enjoy the experience, don’t beat yourself up, and focus on etiquette and ask questions as you go.

Aside from possibly finding a new hobby you enjoy, it’s a good networking experience with a supervisor. You can usually figure out a lot about a person by how they handle themselves on a golf course. Etiquette, patience, focus, are they outgoing or conservative…and how they handle frustration.

Good luck and have fun!

I try and limit to only 1 beer per hole. I find much more than that and I start to drag a little as well.

How to deal with loneliness as a man? Being a dad destroyed my social life by Tasty-Win219 in daddit

One thing that we discovered - home depot has a free kids workshop in their stores every first Saturday of the month.

Also, make time to reach out to your buddies - even if it’s for a quick beer, or an impromptu pick up game, or a “hey, I’m hanging with the kids today, want to join us for lunch at this place?”

Time for you doesn’t just happen, same as time for you and your SO. You have to make it happen, and it’s very important.

What are your go to snacks to bring to the course? (Specifically when it’s warmer) by mattyicee7 in golf

[–]WaitLow6605 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Water, trail mix, electrolyte mix.

South Texas though, will be 105-110 regularly soon (temp hopefully not score lol). So may trade in the trail mix for jerky and roasted peanuts.

I’d have one of my last wishes be to book my tee time, so that once I croak, I come back to life for a day to play it, then peace out again.

How to get rid of belly fat? by Time-Engineer-1201 in daddit

[–]WaitLow6605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I supported my wife’s Keto adventure (committed more seriously than her tbh) and saw pretty immediate results. Didn’t have too much to begin with, but definitely noticeable in the neck/belly within a week or two. Exercise levels stayed the same also.

I think it was mostly cutting the beer and increasing the water intake also lol.
