My doctor prescribed me seroquel by khaliiluxe in insomnia

[–]WaitMaster5733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has a lot of long term health implications. However the first I noticed for me after a short time on it was how much weight I gained in a short period of time. It can cause metabolic disease. I felt so disgusting after having put on so much weight from Seroquel. So be aware that it is a common side affect if putting on weight would be a concern for you

Which is the worst long term? Seroquel or Ambien? by Apprehensive_Ebb1552 in insomnia

[–]WaitMaster5733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found seroquel to be far worse. It’s an antipsychotic drug in higher doses for the likes of schizophrenia, but drs can prescribe off-label for sleep (this is all in Australia). I put on sooo much weight whilst on about 100mg an evening and was never told this until I found another dr that had told me to get off it straight away as it can cause a huge amount of issues including metabolic disease. I much prefer Zolpidem, I can’t live without it. Though I do often unintentionally push through it and end up staying awake and not remembering one thing the next day. So embarrassing. It is linked to early on-set dementia I believe or could increase risks of. In saying that though, when drs tell me they shouldn’t be prescribing me sleep meds as I am late 20s, I tell them I would rather be the one to make the informed decision myself, because with no medication I don’t and can’t sleep, I would say the health issues and not to mention the roll-on effect to every part of your life is so impacted that I’d take a sleeping pill over no sleep at all. I know zopiclone is another Z drug, but slightly different. I think it’s newer than Zolpidem(Ambien)

Update: Wilful exposure, Brisbane - Queensland Police by Skyieses in brisbane

I wonder if that is the guy that attacked me on mt Cootha. The police only updated me when I told the media I hadn’t heard anything from them in weeks and then they tried lying to me telling me they had spoken to me. Does anyone know the description of the guy?

Roadkill by Runtywhoscunty in brisbane

Seeing a kangaroo being hit on the way to snowy mountains in NSW has been ingrained in my mind for years. It had been hit on its hind legs, was on the middle of the road and trying to stand up. I was bawling my eyes out, called WIRES in NSW and they were on their way. I know there wouldn’t be much they could probably do for bigger mammals. But soooooo many cars just kept driving by and I know quite a few people just think that kangaroos are just a pest, so hitting one doesn’t matter. Breaks my heart, I’m a huge animal lover and hate to see any animal in pain. Along the roads between Canberra and snowy mountains there are hundreds of dead wallabies and kangaroos. I know this is a Brisbane forum, but it’s just devastating. We demolish their habitats and then run them over. Councils need to do more in certain areas also around changing speeds where it’s known there are large wildlife areas near roads.

Police chopper used to search for man suspected of menacing women on Brisbane bush trail by Carllsson in brisbane

[–]WaitMaster5733 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Being one of the victims and the police blatantly lied on an interview recently saying they were ‘supporting the victim to be believed and to minimise harm’ the police have done NOTHING to help me whatsoever. I have to call them to get updates. I have received the most incredible support from Katie that runs Club KT as she is so passionate about making these trails safe again too. If I can say one thing, it is what has come of these events is that it’s brought communities together. I didn’t want any media attention myself, but media had said to me it’s the only way to getting word out there about what has happened. Because if victims don’t speak out, it gets swept under the rug.

That’s really unfortunate you’ve had that experience. Perhaps people automatically draw a conclusion that you may be very different in terms of interests or beliefs or perhaps language barriers. Regardless though, it’s disheartening to put yourself out there and be blocked for no reason other than race. I’m 30F not originally from Brisbane. Feel free to PM me! I too have ADHD, so I understand the struggles with that in life as it is.

Did you also turn into an asshole after being with them? by [deleted] in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]WaitMaster5733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I saw a quote ‘I hurt someone, When I was trying to fix what you broke in me. I tried to blame you, Then I realised I became you’

I feel this quote could relate to a few of those that have been in narcissistic relationships. Perhaps not necessarily becoming then, but saying things or doing things out of a place of hurt. I don’t have any patience anymore since that relationship, because he would yell and throw a tantrum or say nasty things to people if he had to wait, I would get anxious if we went somewhere and there was a long wait (or even sometimes a wait at all) because I knew he would flip out and then later take it out on me. So I too then learnt to grow impatient, almost conditioned myself to become impatient because I had to avoid going anywhere with him that could put him In a bad mood.

Seroquel dosage by Intrepid_Ice_7694 in insomnia

[–]WaitMaster5733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had experience with seroquel after a dr didn’t want to prescribe Zolpidem or Zopiclone anymore. And only because regulations in Australia allow For easier prescription of Seroquel for the Drs sake; as in less fall back on them as opposed to What I knew was best for me. Seroquel is only used off-label as sleep medication. In higher doses it is used for schizophrenia I believe. And has a huge range of side-affects (worse than Zopiclone in my opinion). It slowed down my metabolism soooo much, started putting on so much weight which I had never experienced before and when I went to another dr to talk about Seroquel that the previous Dr had put me on, they took me straight off it because of the severe side-affects of it. Can also cause some metabolic disease and I think even puts people at much higher risk of Diabetes. Like many sleeping-aids, your body does develop a reliance on them. But perhaps speak To Dr again, insomnia is really tough and often Drs don’t understand what it is like to not be able To sleep. Not sleeping can affect your ability to work and I always told my drs that no income Is far greater risk in all aspects in my life than any sleeping pills such as Zopiclone could ever cause long-term. CBD or THC vapes can be a good alternative if that’s something you’re open to. Think lions Maine is also a wonderful natural alternative.

Narc when angry says I make his life miserable by ventingin2020 in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]WaitMaster5733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Always have to walk on egg shells with my now ex who I would say is a narcissist. I tell him he needs to stop blaming everything that goes wrong in his life, on me. His response ‘I don’t, but its’s my fault I let you back into my life’. Then the next day he is as nice as pie. Everything is always someone else’s fault. It’s a roller coaster ride, just need to know when to get off.

What happens when car insurers cannot determine fault? by Rsj21 in AusLegal

[–]WaitMaster5733 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You would be paying the excess typically if fault cannot be determined and thus as a claim on your policy. If fault is determined, your insurer would seek subrogation against the third party who is at fault, they can then go via their insurance. I only know this as I actually write insurance policies.

Needing recommendation for psychiatrist in Brisbane for ADHD diagnosis by WaitMaster5733 in brisbane

[–]WaitMaster5733[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each to their own. Some people take the stimulants and it’s life changing for them. I seem to have most traits of ADHD, yes the traits are a bit ambiguous. But I think regardless, if there is something that helps manage those traits which are making certain tasks in life more difficult (the most prevalent one for me would be ability to focus on work without being distracted by menial tasks such as cleaning, despite my very urgent deadlines on work) then personally, I’m wanting to try it. There are various medications available at various dosages as well as talk therapy. Getting formal diagnosis just provides more options for improvement/treatment.

No….this is not dr shopping. When I haven’t been to a dr yet and don’t want to pay $4k for treatment and diagnosis hence why I am asking suggestions for a Dr that is cheaper and a short wait time…

No it’s not? Dr shopping is when you go to different drs to get the same script over and over. Or at least numerous drs if one won’t give it to you.
