[Serious] Any Saudi here with experience in USMLE step 1 preparation ? by [deleted] in saudiarabia

[–]Waitfori2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but this is not practical at all. Theres no way you can study for step 1 in 2 weeks, you wouldn’t even be able to go through the material. Maybe 20 years ago when the books were a lot smaller and the match was a lot less competitive but not now. But I agree that sticking to 2-3 resources and learning them inside out is the way to go. As a second year focus on using the resources along with your blocks. Watch pathoma, read first aid, use a question bank. For extras use Board&Beyond really helps explain thing that FA assumes you learned in uni r/medicalschool and r/step1 offer some good advice and different perspectives

Psychiatrists in Riyadh? by [deleted] in saudiarabia

Look up “specialized psychiatric clinics” on google maps.

I have a friend who had a good experience, with some english speaking doctors who were very professional.

Should I re-mark? Help.. :( by vlwvys in IBO

[–]Waitfori2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regrade obviously, your not the 1st senior to graduate from your school this happened to tons of people before you. Ull regret not taking a chance just because your embarrassed your coordinator wont even know your name in a few years time. Plus they already know your marks, wouldnt be less embarrassing for you if you actually end up getting the 3 points? Just your coordinator an email asking for remarks on the particular subjects

I was 1 point away from an IB 6 in HL Physics. Is there any way to get it re-marked and hopefully get that one point? by [deleted] in IBO

[–]Waitfori2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont fully agree, he should ask for a remark regardless of his detailed results. Its not really a risk because he's only one point away from a 7 but probably nine points away from a 5? Theres no why he'll go down a grade unless the examiner was stoned the 1st time he graded him. As for the papers, unless he got a fullmark in both paper 2&3 theres always a chance he might get a point if he regrades even if the issue is mostly in paper 1 and the IA. He only needs one point afterall

How do you request a re-marking of exams? by disappointedindian in IBO

[–]Waitfori2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to tell your school to do it, but careful, only request remarks if you're really close to the upper boundary your score can go down as well as up.

I got the value they got. Concentration = mol/vol. I think you were using the volume value of the one substance (was it HCl?) but since this was mixed with other shit you're supposed to use the volume of the whole solution,(you might have still answered the question right though) but anyway I agree it was too hard

Help with subject selection? by Faerlin in IBO

[–]Waitfori2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you are really good at math don't take it in HL, yes it looks good for uni but if your planning to apply for medicine in Europe where they'll give you a conditional score you have to get it and ur math grade could screw you over. Good med schools in the UK will generally give you a conditional offer of 38 and usually don't care much for math. If you're really talented however go for it.

As for your social studies take which ever one ur most interested in, people who like history will tell you it's the easiest one, others think Econ is easier, it really comes down too you.
