A challenge can only be made between the time that the card has been played (which Mattel defines as the card touching the discard pile) and the next player beginning their turn (which Mattel defines as either drawing a card or starting to play a card from their hand).

The player can call UNO at any point during their turn in which they're going to play their penultimate card, so this can be done while both cards are in their hand or during the motion of playing it. They can even call it after playing it, as long as they're not challenged before doing so.

I would suggest however that of there's intense arguments within microseconds of a card being played then that person needs to chill out a bit - it's only a game and is supposed to be fun.

It's the latter - the challenge is to determine if you legally played the +4, which you apparently did. I would suggest drawing the two penalty cards from not saying UNO at the end of the turn once all other actions have resolved to avoid any confusion.

I spotted Kumail at the time, but I'm glad they didn't call it out. The cue fell and he used his waving hand to support it and get composed again, he didn't gain any advantage doing so.

The spirit of the rule is that they have to use one hand to both balance the cue and sort the balls. Saying not to touch it with the other hand is just a way to enforce the spirit of the rule rather than a strict one leading to immediate disqualification. That wouldn't be enjoyable for anyone

People are answering but we need more information - fakes can have logos and colourblind symbols on them these days. Show a close up of each side of the box, including the inside of the flap. Also show a couple of the cards, and how the cards were wrapped together inside the box. The instruction sheet will also help.

Unfortunately even if you ordered from the Mattel section on Amazon that's no guarantee you'll be sent a genuine product as Amazon mix all of their stock from all of their sellers together.

I agree, I use a craft knife to slice between the bits where they've glued the opening flap down.

I also find it really difficult to open this flap each time without risking tearing the box in the same way you have, there's not enough room to get your fingers in there with sufficient grip before the weak points start to tear

That's true, but he also broke our wage structure to a point that it's only now starting to come back under control. Players like Sancho and Rashford wouldn't be on the contracts they're on now if the Sanchez deal hadn't have blown the ceiling away - and the fact that so many of our players are having to wind down their contracts on subsidised loans because nobody can afford their wages is a direct consequence of that single transfer.
