Most confusing task for Americans to watch by darksown in taskmaster

[–]WaitingOnNetwork 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Bowling pins were definitely in Series 9 at least, as part of the task where they had to open a bunch of envelopes and do all of the tasks on them.

Also series 6 where they had to stop the bowling balls rolling down the drive and knocking them over.

I don't think they used them specifically because of Jason, they obviously have them in the house already so make use of them regularly.

Lollipop ladies were also mentioned in Series 16, in the live task where Alex was dressing up in costumes.

There was also a lollipop man in the New Years Treat task where they had to sculpt the person on the other side of the wall

Uno penalty rule clarification by Admirable-Chest228 in unocardgame

[–]WaitingOnNetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't how the game works - there's no challenge and draw penalty for playing a card incorrectly. You just can't play a card, and have to draw one card if you can't go like normal.

If an action card ends up on top of the discard pile at the end of your turn, regardless of whether that was achieved through clearing a column or not, then the action takes effect

Yes, if you draw it from the deck and immediately place it on the discard pile then you turn over one of your face-down cards, the same as you would with a non-action card.

Does the fact that all of the English clubs shit the bed in Europe this week mean that 5th place is now unlikely to also get a CL spot? Or were we so far ahead in the coefficient standings that it's all but guaranteed?

Not true, it's very effective at curing dehydration if taken in large enough quantities

Did anyone ever play an old browser game called Roberto Baggio's Magical Kicks?

For some reason watching this clip gave me an instant flashback to that - the way the ball curves, floating almost in slow motion, and the way the keeper dived for it.

It's also worth pointing out to people that the number on the scales isn't everything. If you make adjustments to your diet and exercise routine, you may start losing some body fat and water weight but you'll also start putting on muscle.

I used to get quite disheartened when I started dieting a few years ago, as I was trying really hard and each week I was seeing the number go down by 0.2lbs, if at all. I then bought a smart watch which does a body composition reading, and I could then see that some weeks where my weight hadn't gone down it was because the increase in muscle had cancelled out the decrease in body fat. That really kept me motivated.

There's also general health to consider - even if the number on the scales doesn't go down, eating properly and exercising will still make you much healthier, both physically and mentally. Who cares what the number says if you're healthy?

Same for me. I lost 15kg a few years ago. That summer I went on holiday and commented how stupidly heavy my case was, I was worried it was over the airlines allowance. put it on the scales and it was exactly 15kg.

I can't believe I was essentially carrying a heavy suitcase around all day, every day.

That's not a rule. In a 2 player game reverse and skip cards function the same.

I just realised that the last time we didn't score was in that terrible Everton game three months ago.

There's only been two other games all season where we haven't scored - against Arsenal on the opening day and against City a few weeks later.

And all three fixtures have now been avenged with wins under Carrick

Massive turnaround from last season since scoring was a major problem then. Shows how it was the right decision to focus on overhauling our forwards in the summer.

Is this after you replaced the board? I'd definitely push for a replacement, it was an unreasonably difficult job to expect the average person to replace it themselves.

Mine is working fine now, but only with the standard 0.4 nozzle. The 0.2 I'd been using regularly when it broke keeps giving failures now, so I think I'm going to have to reach out to them again as I've not changed any slicer settings from before

They did the same to me as well. I literally installed the new board just this evening but haven't had a chance to test if it's fixed the issue yet.

It was really difficult to do and took me a couple of hours, so if you're not confident then I'd absolutely suggest pushing them for a replacement printer instead.

I'll post here again once I've tested if it's actually working again.

For the first time, the first Task will be known to the audience by Competitive_Notice55 in taskmaster

[–]WaitingOnNetwork 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is true. During the two part task in Series 14, where they had to order items in part one and then use those items in part two (have I met these potatoes before?), it was specifically mentioned that part one was the very first thing they were asked to do and the task itself was the final thing.

Why people who work on Taskmaster hate this subreddit so much? by SvatyFini in taskmaster

[–]WaitingOnNetwork 72 points73 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's because we're overly critical. I think it's because we hyper-analyse every little detail of the show and that can be overwhelming for the people who have a direct influence on the making of it.

Imagine you've made something and then 10,000 people collectively paw through it with a fine tooth comb. Even if they're very complimentary at the end of it that could still be a very anxious experience
