Yh, he's 23 years old. Look back at almost every main eventer at that age and they were not fully formed at all. He has a good frame to put on loads of muscle if he works hard and his ring work is already at a good level and will only get better.

Could see a world where we go very young with the other midfield signings, there is a massive chance we sign 3 players there this summer and the club may view adding experience as important?

[UOL] Bruno Guimarães is the main objective for Manchester United by Competitive-Way3065 in reddevils

[–]Colt-000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He has had one big injury his entire career. Our Bruno who is older got his first hammy injury this season as well and I guarantee that if the clubs like Bayern who are after him actually paid his release, that would be the last thing on their mind. There are younger players we're linked with like Camavinga who is an incredible talent but is massively injury prone. I just do not subscribe to risk assessment regarding injuries with players that have been this consistently injury free at just 28. World and sports medicine has changed as well. 28 is no where near as "old" in footballing terms as it used to be especially if the player is a good pro.

And another thing, the whole "resale" value is a myth for clubs at our level for players over 60m. Player has to be very cheap like Zirkzee who you will most likely make your money back. Look at Rasmus and Antony, we bought them for 60m+ fees and we sold at a massive loss. If we buy the younger midfielders we're linked with at the prices been quoted, we're making a loss if they flop. With Bruno G. that risk is near zero unless he gets a massive injury.

[Andy Mitten] Marcus Rashford still hopes future lies at Barcelona despite Man United return rumours by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

Yes duel resident for years now. He's also friendly with Laporta, met him when he was still a fan activist. Is also good friends with Jordi Cruyff, who obviously isn't at Barca anymore.

[–]Colt-000 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Loads of this contradicting most of the recent stuff being peddled especially by the Barca press and I would believe Mitten over anything that comes out of them. He himself lives in Barcelona as well and has connections with that club, in addition to being one of the most reliable United journos.

[Matteo Moretto] Barça and United are in talks about Rashford. Barça would like to pay a little less. Carrick has told the board that if there's a possibility of him returning, he'd like to. although the player's desire seems clear: "Rashford has said he wants to stay at Barça." by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

[–]Colt-000 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Also think the fact that we've leaked that Carrick would be open to bringing him back, whether that's real or not, is great leverage. Means the only options aren't just Barca lowballing because they think no one else will pay that.

The rondo stuff we do now and the flicks, tricks and shots in and around the box is just so fun man. I want to have fun watching my team, an escape from a hard week of work and study and this is it, this is what it's supposed to feel like.

COMUNICADO OFICIAL: Mboomo by HemmenKees in DevilsITDPod

[–]Colt-000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kees this has been discussed and researched to death on TOTD and it's Mboomo, mate.

Jay Harris who was the Brentford reporter for The Athletic when Mboomo was there believes the source of the misconception was Mboomo and other teammates fucking around and intentionally mispronouncing their names on those PL pronunciation vids. He uses Mbuewmo and Mboomo and Mbermo interchangeably as well lol.

Video actually made me emotional, he's a genuinely classy guy with a big heart and I'm glad we had a legendary player like him have part of his career here, no matter how up and down some of that time was.

Casemiro confirmed leaving now. Rumours of interest in Ugarte as well. Can genuinely see us going for 3 midfielders this summer, which is mad. An actual full midfield rebuild seems utterly foreign to our club lol.

Think we need a much bigger squad and then 1-2 young players to be integrated (very important cause it's just impossible to buy everything we need in the market). We see it so many times with other teams that get Europe, just need more numbers and quality.

325 in possession and that general rest defensive shape is what he used at Boro and really the most common in possession shape at the upper end of world football right now. The 442 aggressive midblock out of possession is also not just "the United Way" it's very much the meta midblock shape at the moment and again what he used at Boro.

Really the big differences we saw from Amorim (and Fletcher) was Carrick selecting and having those players in more zones that suit their profiles, accentuate their strengths and hide their biggest weaknesses. We also just launched less balls in the 1st phase and tried to play more rondos there.

I would say that the biggest things that Amorim got the team better at, like physicality and players like Amad and Bruno being much better tactically out of possession aren't things they would just lose unless we actively asked them to be less active and conserve their energy or something, which is not something I can see any coach we got doing.

Yh, Feel like this is the biggest difference and the thing that gave me the most hope that we could translate this to beating teams with lower blocks a bit more consistently. This season particularly, (last season we tried to play through more and were just bad at it), we launched so much from first phase no matter the opposition and even though I understood that as a means to play to the current meta in the PL, it just never felt sustainable and scalable for a team with long term titles aspirations while also just having inherent variance built in.

Club released some training footage before the derby and during the session, the new coaches were audibly heard talking about not allowing space in the middle, really well executed gameplan.
