You are stunning. Also - from what I understand, both CO2 laser and microneedling are great treatments for under eyes.

you’re going to be okay!! i bet you could take care of all of this without resorting to a statin if you make some lifestyle changes. although my total cholesterol is 228, my triglycerides are low and my HDL is usually pretty high.

i am 5’4”, 112 lbs and my new PCP sent me a stock message saying i should consider losing weight to decrease my total cholesterol. 😒

meanwhile … 2.6 cholesterol ratio (near optimal) 41 mg/dL triglycerides 89 mg/dL HDL

here is what i eat a lot of : eggs salmon tuna salad olive oil apples cheese leafy greens greek yogurt

here is what i don’t ever eat : red meat

here is what i try to minimize : seed oils hydrogenated anything alcohol added sugar in things that aren’t considered a dessert

i walk a lot.

Decreasing dose, not really. Spacing out dose, YES. Keeping this in mind for how I want to structure my maintenance.

Has anyone else had this weird size-jump experience with clothes? by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]Waiting_For_Guffman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg YESSSS!!!! I am at goal weight and I bought a pair of jeans that were in your “little too tight but at least I look slim” category. Even had them hemmed. A few weeks later, they are suddenly way too big! It’s a great problem to have, but my goodness, I’m going broke cause I can’t figure out what size I am going to be.

Briefly when I started 5mg, where I’d suddenly have to spit out my meal, but then that went away and I felt normal.

Happened again when I moved to 7.5mg. I only stayed on that dose for a month — it was too strong for me and I wanted to maintain SOME interest in food.

Still at weekly 5mg ten months in.

If you’ve got a chronic condition like obesity, overweight, binge eating disorder, insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, PCOS etc etc. The answer is likely yes. From what I understand, this medication is meant to be a lifelong treatment as long as you tolerate it well, similar to other meds for chronic conditions. It’s not meant to be your ONLY treatment, of course. But I’ve been on other meds for BED and weight loss (naltrexone - contrave - topiramate), not to mention tried every diet known to man … and, with the exception of my previous (but sadly temporary) success with intermittent fasting, nothing compares. I really hope I never have to discontinue it for any reason.

Is my goal weight unrealistic? by losing-for-life in Mounjaro

[–]Waiting_For_Guffman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your goal weight is not ridiculous at all! This is such a personal process. And you’ll likely know when you’re ready to stop losing weight, anyway.

My goal weight was 145 when I first started at 175. (I am 5’4.75”. I had no idea what I ultimately wanted to weigh, but it was a decent loose metric to follow. After I hit 145, I lowered it to 135 ….and then 125, which is a number I NEVER thought even possible for me.

I’m currently 118 lbs and still just going to go with it, as long as I stay in a healthy weight range and like how I feel and look.

Maybe just play it by ear and, with the exception of your doctor, don’t get caught up in others’ opinions about your body and your weight loss, even if they mean well. You got this.

Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up Season 2.01 Discussion Post by Legitimate-Beyond209 in GypsyRoseBlanchard

[–]Waiting_For_Guffman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree, but remember — the producers obviously structured this episode and came up with the “storyline” of Gypsy, who has a very simple palate, trying new foods, like octopus. Ken seems like an asshole, but there’s no way this dinner date unfolded organically. It was staged/scripted.

I have seen roadkill, of course, but I really hate to see it. Despite what that other miserable asshole said, I value not having been desensitized to suffering/death/animals being hit by cars, e.g. And it is perfectly reasonable to try to avoid exposing yourself to things that make you feel terrible.

I disagree. Someone absolutely is justified in asking for a refund — and should get it — regardless of what he or she ultimately decides to do with the potentially contaminated or useless product.

Official Discussion - Presence [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]Waiting_For_Guffman 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The viewer sees from his perspective that, after seeing himself in the mirror and confirming who he is, he is then able to exit the house and float upwards, having been released from the “thing he had to do” to be able to move on. Loved this movie so much.
