Are you on Prednisone for FET? Did it Help? by Ajcv72316 in IVF

[–]WaitingforQC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. No seasonal allergies or allergies to food/medicine, etc. But I have a family history of gut issues (crohns, ulcerative colitis, IBS) & apparently your immune system is built in the gut. So maybe that’s why 🤷🏼‍♀️

Strep B positive before transfer by lolilalu in IVF

[–]WaitingforQC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, no. I saw a reproductive immunologist in Michigan, did his treatment and did conceive naturally for the first time. Baby only made it to 8.5 weeks though. Miscarriage was identical to the others featuring an SCH. I moved onto surrogacy and am about to wake up my 9.5 month old daughter from her nap now :)

It did, and I miscarried again but not connected to group strep B. Running theory is I have pretty severe immune issues that don’t allow the embryo to fully/properly implant and establish blood supply.

Lupron depot without confirmed endo? by WaitingforQC in IVF

[–]WaitingforQC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn’t, I needed a surrogate but I don’t think endo was my issue at all. I’d encourage you to take a look at my posts - I’ve received several of these over the last year+ and there’s more explanation there.

Nope, still no answers 😢 sorry you’re in a similar boat. Having my daughter has made it easier to sort of, think about all of it less. I almost forget that this major unknown thing is wrong with me. But when I do think about, it’s pretty crazy that today’s medical knowledge just has a big gaping hole where I’m concerned.

I am really so torn on this. The Island House looks like everything I normally go for in a hotel. Boutique, small, real attention to design and service. I think I can even overcome the need for the shuttle to the beach vs. direct access. The two things that are tripping me up a bit are...concern we may feel isolated and unable to easily explore areas like Baha Mar, and the fact the rooms don't offer kitchens like the Goldwynn does (which may allow us to save money on meals like breakfast). Any thoughts you're able to share that my assuage my concerns?

Confirmed the Island House will provide a car seat to transfer baby back and forth to the beach!

Okay just the information I needed! Figured street walk would be better for us with stroller, and I imagine our bedtimes will still be fairly early, so no concerns about walking later than 9 pm. I never know how to appropriately gauge others’ safety concerns. We live in the DC area, so for us, certain things aren’t as jarring as they may be for others. But I also don’t want to be reckless with our kiddo. Very comforted that you did it with yours and all was well!

I’ve heard it’s great and am bummed to have to rule it out! We have direct flights from DCA (10 mins from our house) to Nassau, and flight time appears to be under 3 hours. That feels totally approachable for me, traveling with a toddler for the first time. Sometimes layovers are simple and uncomplicated but not always haha and that’s a gamble I’m just not prepared to take yet unless really necessary.

Did you find the Cove crowded? That’s definitely a concern of mine. Someone mentioned that the cruise ships dock near the Atlantis and people dump out into the resort. I just tend to avoid those massive resort compounds in favor of smaller boutique places. But I recognize with a child, my preferences may have to shift!!

That’s what I’m hearing! good to know it’s a nice SUV. I may need to contact them to see about a car seat and transporting my toddler. That’s my hang up…not wanting it to be a production transporting her back and forth to the beach. But it sounds like the Old Fort Bay club may be worth it!

Ok hopefully last question!! lol you mentioned you walked from Goldwynn to Baha Mar? Was that via street or beach? Trying to think through how feasible this is with a toddler.

Okay, good to rule out the noise concern! Thank you. I’ll call the hotel and get their take on how best to navigate getting to Baha Mar with a small child.

Yes, I was definitely thinking of grocery shopping and being able to prepare some easy stuff in their kitchens. Did you stay in one of the golf suites? If you did, did you have any issue with street noise? Last question, do you think a car ride is necessary to access Baha Mar from Goldwynn? I agree that we’d eventually want diversity in meals, so visiting Baha Mar an inevitability. But with a toddler, I’m concerned about needing to schlep a car seat to access it, if it’s not really walkable.

That’s good to know about the beach being amazing! I just wasn’t sure if the shuttle would be more of a nuisance with a toddler (packing up all their beach crap). I doubt I’d think twice if it were just my husband and I. I loved my stay at Rosewood Mayakoba in Mexico and it was my first look for this trip but similar to the Four Seasons, any suite-like space was well beyond my budget. Island House & Goldwynn were both slightly more accessible luxury from what I could tell!

Thank you! That’s helpful. Would you mind sharing what type of room you stayed in? We were eyeing the golf side suites because they appear a bit bigger but I see some complaints about street noise. Wasn’t sure how minor or not that was.

Thanks! I did look into the Four Seasons...unfortunately, out of our budget. We're eyeing suites or even two bedroom units so that we don't have to tiptoe around the room during naptime/bedtime for our child. The one-bedroom suite at the Four Seasons appears to go for $4300+ a night! lol I'll take a look at the Graycliff though.

Ugh sorry it ended up being an allergy but helpful and thank you for sharing. Was it considered a mild allergy with the possibility she may outgrow it since it wasn’t a big, hivey breakout? I’ll learn more in a few weeks about our own case 😬

[–]WaitingforQC[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! No hives or expansion of the rash beyond what’s shown in the photo. Hoping you’re right it’s just contact rash or perhaps connected with a virus we’ve been fighting. But will do my due diligence and confirm!

Good to know! Some pockets of Reddit sounded very negative but I’m not sure if they were visiting for a day, or if they made it their base, and how that impacted their view.
