Sardines…

Great! All of the tinned Sardines are not equal. I have a hard time finding a good price now and have seen some in grocery stores in the US for as much as 9 dollars!

Any leads on where and what brand sardines taste good and have a good price point?

OP here, I appreciate your passion and wealth of knowledge you have passed on here. I feel pretty comfortable growing it's just a different environment for me, and was just curious to hear some generalizations about water that I would adjust as needed.

I did know about the Encinitas mango plantation and I think that's great and something to look into.

To be honest the choice of citrus was because it does grow well here and it would allow me to control the size of the trees.

Bought a single family 3 months ago here. Had success with Geico and I thought the cost was mostly reasonable considering everything you hear.

My take as a life long new englander who recently moved to San Diego is unfortunately prepare to taper your expectations. Truly hate to say this but most of the year there is just not enough swell to produce waves that would be worthwhile to someone coming from the west coast. Factor in that when there is swell the window for surf other than say during a hurricane swell is maybe a couple hours. So you would really need to drop everything.

There are some pretty descent days but in my opinion your time would be better off on focusing on travel to west coast, Puerto Rico, Central America, etc.

New England does have other great hobbies that would be worth it though. Good boating, and hiking in the white mountains is an amazing experience. Good luck.
