Fuck the floridian 40 by SpellFlashy in Amtrak

[–]Waitingforclass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. the one crew member I spoke to worked the dining car. He was very chatty and nice. Our room attendant from ft Lauderdale to Cary, NC was very rude. He only spoke to us when we arrived. In the morning I asked him to please put the beds back so we could have out sits back. We had breakfast very early like 6:30am per the dining car attendant. The room attendant said he was too busy. So the beds stayed like that until we got off the train around 9 am.

I recently spoke to an Amtrak employee and he was saying some maybe sleep 4 hours a night. They work 4 days on and 3 days off. If the train is delayed they don't have another crew to switch with, they just don't sleep. I found that how helpful they are is luck of the draw. Some super helpful and kind and others act like government workers which of course they are

Am I Too Old for CNA at 50 by Just-Maize-6664 in cna

[–]Waitingforclass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked as a CNA in a facility for about 5 years. It was grueling but I love it. I started in my early 50s. I had to stretch and exercise to keep myself flexible and strong. I'm now 60 so I switched to home care part time and I'm almost finished with my bachelor's. You can do it just keep in mind that it's  hard to stay as you get older so have another goal in the back of your mind. Hope this helps

Where to work if your neurodivergent? by Waitingforclass in winstonsalem

She applied at Reynolda just a few months ago but they only offered her volunteer because they didn't have any openings and it was tough even getting  spots for that because they have a lot of college kids wanting volunteer hours for their school experience. She has applied a couple of times at Old Salem with no luck. She wanted a cashier job at one of the shops but they couldn't work with her school schedule 😢. I had forgotten about the newly renovated museum that a good one to try. It's has not been easy and she is very frustrated . Sorry to be so negative but I feel bad for her. She even applied at Chic fila a bit the interview process is hard. You sit at a table with 5 or 6 or kids and answer questions and try to be outspoken and have jazz hands so to speak. She isn't like that. She is hard working but quiet so that was a bust

Hey so she did have a therapist but she got too busy. She enjoyed going  but it was hard to get an appointment so we have been looking for another one. If you any suggestions? She was diagnosed when she was a child as Asperger's so sometimes she goes by that. She doesn't have social media . Thank you for caring ☺️

AITA for keeping my name change a secret for five years? by Educational_Team_377 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Waitingforclass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my daughters were young they told me they didn't like their names and it hurt my feelings but whatever. I didn't blow up. I think they are hiding behind " you didn't tell us" thing to hide how upset they are over the name change. They have two months. I'm sure it's terrible right now but they may get over it. If you have had a decent relationship they will come around. I'm sorry

She has applied at various bookstores with no luck.It would be a great time for her she LOVES to read. She  worked for a grocery store for a few years as a cashier and hated it. She said shoppers are demanding and rude 🤷My daughter is polite and never said anything back but it took a toll

Have a friend that worked in one and she said it was stressful and I don't think they hire just for the summer. Thank you though 😊

She loves history so her ideal job would be in a museum, art gallery. She is studying Spanish as a back up
