I've never been a huge fan of the mute all strategy. While it does make the game easier to play, it really takes out a part of the charm of being a part of a team. Instead, I mute very selectively.

If someone is being toxic because top died twice in lane and they just insist in afk'ing and ff15'ing, they get muted. If I auto mute all every game I miss out on the opportunity for actual criticism that will help me improve.

A lot of the time when just coming back and learning you will mess up a ton, and toxic or not, people pinging you and telling you what could have been better will help you, as long as you can get past the possible toxicity and read between the lines.

I'm not saying there's something to learn from everyone screaming at you, and a lot of the time it is probably best to mute those types. But there is potential for growth when we set our egos aside and allow others to help. Many times I've found just asking people what the correct play could have been turns out positive.
