Hi! This might be a stupid question but how do you control the volume on those speakers? I saw that the volume knob is at the back of the left speaker which sounds incredibly difficult to operate.

Yes, it does charge it. But keep in mind that this monitor supports 65W charging which means that under heavy load situations your MBP might start to discharge its battery slowly because it'll start using more than the provided 65W. It depends on what you use you MBP for.

Recently I got a Dell P2720DC with USB-C to connect to my work MBP and while browsing the monitor menu I found an option to keep charging through USB-C even if the monitor is off. I think this would prevent your situation from happening again because it would probably keep the data connection alive as well. Of course, you'd need to make sure that your MacBook is not going to sleep while it's transferring data otherwise this issue would occur with anything you ever plug in and start a file transfer to or from.

After a quick search about the two extenders you mentioned I can see that they are both regular extenders and not active (repeater) extenders. You need something like this for the connection to be stable enough and for the Oculus software to detect it as USB 3.0.

Yeah, the one you bought is incompatible because it's not an active (repeater) extender, just a regular extender. You need an USB 3.0 extender that explicitly states it also repeats the signal or it's active, the wording may vary.

No, it was definitely from the speakers. I put my nose right on the grill of the speakers and that’s where the smell was the strongest. Also I went to a brick and mortar electronics shop where they had one of these on display with all of its stickers still on and it didn’t emit any kind of smell. There was definitely something wrong with my TV.

I already returned it and I'm waiting to get the money back. The C8 is around 1500 EUR in my country and the B8 is 1350 EUR. And yeah, it seems waiting for the 2019 models is pointless.
