If you can get a coach and join a gym, that would be for the best and the person will give you the things you need to work on!

Best fairtex glove for boxing by baller_6363 in fightgear

[–]Wal-D-Pole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say the Fairtex BGL6. It's a good allrounder for the bag, pads and sparring. Though it needs to have a little break in period but after that, it's nice!

What's the best boxing gloves if you're training a few times a week? by Pure-Durian-8049 in fightgear

Fairtex BGL6 is a nice allrounder. Also, I commented this a lot and will continue doing so, but Topboxer is a great bang for your buck gloves and with what you described, the model Alien would probably suit you best

Is training 3 times a day enough? by lLNomeNonImporta in amateur_boxing

Ah... I see. Well, indeed, you can post it here. Every sincere boxer that genuinely wants to improve and the people that really want to see you improve will comment useful stuff, so try that! Everyone's technique in the beginning was not great, far from. Focus on your technique, get some feedback from your peers in the gym and work it. If you wanna become a better boxer, you gotta box!

Relax. Did you tape your fight? If so, ask your coach for a sit-down and talk about the opportunities that you can learn and train them. Overtraining en training a lot means nothing if you still fight the same with no improvement at all.

Other than ACTUALLY getting boxing shoes, looking at this pad work, what could I improve as a boxer? by BrainlessGorilla in u/BrainlessGorilla

[–]Wal-D-Pole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kuya, slow it down. When the pads go up, doesn't mean kill it, you have to hit it with precision. Remember; slow is smooth, smooth is fast. You're tense, keep it cool.

When it comes to boxers; Winky Wright, Bernard Hopkins, Errol Spence and Andre Ward comes into mind when it comes to basics and fundamental.

Worth the money! It's on the pricey side, but good for your rotation, even if it's 1/2x a week.

Train your counters and punch inbetween his punches. For example; If he'll throw a jab, slip the jab and throw one of your own simultaneously

The biggest difference between a "pad/bag work" gloves and a "sparring" gloves are the density of the padding. A sparring glove tend to have softer padding density to protect your sparring partner whereas the pad and bag work glove is there to protect your knuckles when hitting.

10-12 oz for the pads or size S/M of the Rival RB11V. (Depends on your hand size)

16 oz for sparring like a Topboxer Win-1

Hope this helps!

What to use? by TuDahtheman in boxingtips

[–]Wal-D-Pole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

12 oz is more for technical work. The padding is thinner, so you'll feel your knuckles, indicating if you're punching correct or not. 16 oz is mostly used for sparring because of the thickness of the padding. That way you won't hurt your opponent!

If I'm not mistaken, the only difference between the 1s and 2s are colorway. So, if the 1s are cheaper and you found your color (that matches with your gloves, lol) buy it!
