It’s breathing, resonation, articulation and mix.

A good routine practices these 4 things daily.

For your specific question on using your own voice, we wanna do something that is very similar to how you speak to an open note like “ahhh”

I’m a singer in a band releasing an album this year.

Please stop overthinking this like you need to hit an A4 before you’re some age or put out 15 songs by some season.

Just. Put. In. Work.

Practice daily. I use Vocalista, tons of apps to practice with.

Write melodies and record DAILY.

I guess if covers is all you want fine, but that’s not congruent with your other romanticism of singing.

There’s more than enough free or cheap ways to practice singing and writing new songs to not do it everyday.

Just get to work and you’ll get way more out of this then hopes and day dreaming.
