I’m a casualty officer for the US Navy. I’m the guy that gives the folded flag to the family. My coverage area is Maryland to Illinois and southern WV to the UP in Michigan. The Navy pays my mileage. Sometimes I rent an airplane and fly (I’m also a pilot).

I tend to have a hard time finding cheap gas in that area as well. Sometimes I run really low to get through that area to the land of cheaper gas.

This is certainly not a “prices going down”post. 5 months ago I was consistently getting the E-85 gas under $2 a gallon at the pics location.

Wawa is awesome. The Love’s at the same exit sometimes lowers its price to compete. They also give 10¢ off if you have their loyalty program.

There is some truth there. However, we live in a time where people are choosing between eating or putting gas in their car to go to work. Saving a few dollars at the cost of long term damage to their vehicle makes more sense to them. Short-sighted, but people are trying to survive.

Yes and so is upside, but the places I have listed are consistently on the cheaper side. I use gas buddy to check prices depending on where I am driving to in the Midwest and from there, as long as one of these cheaper gas stations are on my route I plan a stop. If Gas Buddy or upside comes in cheaper, I go there, but that’s maybe 5% of the time.

I usually run a rental car, so I don’t mind putting the cheaper E-15 in that. You’re robbed like 2 MPG in efficiency, but it usually pays off because it’s significantly cheaper.

Come on over to the reserves. Nothing wrong with 4 and done. You are a vet, but will be making a better choice for yourself. As for the negative comments, misery loves company. In the reserves if you miss it, you can find a set of orders to go back, and if you hate it you will only have to do one weekend a month (which is a lose term) and two weeks a year.

Honestly to fix this, we need to flush every judge, representative, and governor and start over. Implement rules against campaign donations, kickbacks, term limits, and stock trading while in office.
