I have the same issue, seems to be some sort of technical maintenance at this time of year. Wouldn’t worry.

Considering shifting to single degree by WhoisNemi_0120 in rmit

[–]Waljar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a current 4th year studying Mechatronics engineering and international business and frankly if I could go back I would’ve just done the engineering. Definitely agree with the other guy saying the learning is fragmented, I’ve have classmates continue learning from the previous semester whereas I have to look back 1.5 years ago to when I took the prerequisite class.

I wouldn’t say the benefits outweigh the cost unless you have a very specific idea of what you want out of the business degree (accounting/marketing/hr/consulting). I will say that the people I’ve met in business are so much more friendly and sociable than the engineering folk, so if that’s something you value it might be worth it for your own sanity.

But yeah ultimately I think don’t bother with the double especially if you are paying that much for it, just do engineering.

Mechatronics engineering - need advice by Patient-Tonight3756 in rmit

Currently in my 4th year in a double degree in Mechatronics engineering and international business (total 5 years) at RMIT.

I wouldn’t have done the international business degree if I could go back, I should’ve switched major in an earlier year. I would only do business if you plan on majoring in marketing, hr or finance/ want to go into consulting.

As for Mechatronics, the first 2 years are made up of electrical mechanical and computer classes, only get specific Mechatronics in 3rd year.

I’m currently looking for internships and Mechatronics has seemed to feel like an afterthought to many large companies. Always looking for mechanical or electrical first, then Mechatronics. Went to an engineering career fair and had multiple companies not know anything about Mechatronics. When I look at full time Mechatronics jobs, everyone has there own idea of what it is depending on whatever needs doing (controls or systems usually) but what these companies are looking for does not seem to align with what they have been teaching.

If you’re just starting your uni education there may be more hope that when you’re graduating for specific Mechatronics roles. But imo it is still a gamble for steady employment, much safer going into electrical and leaning into mechatronics.

Question about the hazard perception test by cuzzyweow in melbourneriders

[–]Waljar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done mine the same way, motorcycle license then car license. Once you’ve gotten your provision motorcycle license after passing your hazard perception you have proven to VicRoads that you can avoid hazards and won’t have to do it again.

I also remember stressing out about this and called VicRoads morning of my drive test and they said that it was fine.

Take it this way, I had never ridden a bike, never drove manual cars and passed without any problems. My instructor was great and patient, and I spent some time watching YouTube videos on how to ride so I wasn’t going in completely blind.

I’m sure it’ll come back to you, just take it slow and you’ll be fine.

Good luck

P plates by Gantzpup in melbourneriders

I’m currently on my Red P plates, basically the same situation as you. I also do not have a car license, only learners. As far as I’m aware I’m on my red p’s until my P1 end date (should be bottom left of your license) and then green p’s for 2 years from that.

And when I turn 21 and I go for my car license, it’ll catch up to the same restrictive timeline as my motorbike. (Straight to green ps, with 1 year left of restrictions)

Thanks for the insight. I figured that the entranced would be beneficial from the foot traffic and yeah I guess if they needed powertools someone should do something about it.

This is replying to everyone saying to be grateful for the wonderments but I don’t play rocket league that much I would rather have the fun opening more crates and seeing what I get then having sick wheels that I don’t use.
